CSI Junior Program Fundraiser at BCAPL Nationals to Support U.S. Junior Team

This year at the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships (May 11-22, 2011 at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, NV), CueSports International (CSI) is expanding fundraising efforts on behalf of the U.S. Junior National Team.

The proceeds from the fundraising efforts will be used to hold youth camps throughout the country and to provide coaching and mentoring to the U.S. Junior National Team while they prepare for the WPA Junior World Championships. Coordinating the Junior Program for CSI is WPBA top professional and former Junior National Champion, Sarah Rousey. The CSI Junior Program is working in cooperation with the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF).

The fundraising activities will include:

* Challenge the Stars: May 17th from 8-10 pm in the Grande Ballroom at the Riviera Hotel & Casino Convention Center. By paying a nominal donation you will have a shot at beating some of the top pros from around the world.

* Group Lesson with a Pro (will take place onsite at the Riviera Hotel & Casino): Take a group lesson at the Riviera with a top pro! Class sizes will be limited.

* Commemorative BCAPL Casino Chip Key Chain: Offered in several colors and designs the one of a kind keychain will be for sale at $5 each at the CSI Technology booth next the BCAPL Tournament Control Desk in the Grande Ballroom. There is a limited supply and will be sold while supplies last.

* “Support the U.S. Junior National Team” Raffles: During the 11 day BCAPL National event CSI will be offering raffle items to benefit the Junior Program.

CSI is also actively seeking donated items for the raffle. For more information or if you are a vendor or individual interested in donating an item for the raffle please contact Sarah Rousey at sarahr@playcsipool.com.

Come and join in on the good cause :) Our future Champions need a little support!

This is something that is near and dear to my heart and I'd like to thank the CSI/BCAPL team for letting me help with this. I hope that everyone going to Vegas stops by and gets a chance to play one of their favorite pro players. I am trying to finalize a list of players this week. Please help us make the future of pool brighter. It all starts with the juniors!

Sarah

Sarah...Near and dear to me too, as I'm proud to say that I, along with Mark Wilson and Jerry Briesath, had the great opportunity to get you started on the path you have followed so well! You make all three of us very proud!

I hope you can have the young phenom, Jesse Engel, as well that other star player you hang around with! He plays pretty fair too! LOL I got a good look at both Jason and Jesse's games last fall in VA! You'd have to say they have to be two of the hottest young players in the country!

Best of luck with this new project. It is so much needed! I'll be happy to help in any way I can!

Bump to take this back to the front page. Let's get together on this, and donate some things that they can raffle off in Vegas. I'll start with donating $1000 in lessons.

hey sarah,

I have spoken to Mark and Randy about helping out with this, and i want to cycle across America, yes the whole of this mammoth country to raise enough funds to set up a junior academy...

Anyone want to join me or help out in making this happen.. all help is greatfully wanted and appreciatted.

keeping this on the front page. I KNOW there are those of you out there who care about the future of our sport. The kids are it folks. Come up with some things that can be raffled off. It can be anything, but we need to act on it now, as the tournament begins in a week!

Support the KIDS

To Scott and the others:

CSI will be making some announcements real soon about a new Junior program that is going to be great!

Hopefully some can make donations that can be raffled off at the BCAPL Nationals - which start next week.

Scott - you will probably be in on some of the talks that RandyG and I are having. If we can put this together, the Kids will WIN!!

Hey Guys:
Sorry we can't be there for the fun and games, but want to help out with this great effort.
I'm sending over a pristine Ginacue for Sarah & CSI to use as a prize to raise some money and awareness for the Junior Program.... there's so much talent and energy out there that just needs some organization and direction to get the USA in its rightful place at the top of the heap. The grease for the wheels is always the same: money! BEF does an incredible job with little funding, but most of the kids who travel to compete do so on their own dimes and without a lot of organized support. CSI is once again stepping up to try to bring some focus to this effort and I'm delighted to be able to help.
Here's a picture and description.....
The forearm features 5 Brazilian Rosewood points into Bird's-Eye Maple. Each point has 4 veneers. The butt sleeve is a gorgeous piece of Brazilian Rosewood. The wrap is seamless lizard by Ernie. 2 shafts, each of which has an Ivory ferrule and a meaty layered tip. Both shafts roll dead straight together and apart. The shaft diameters are 13.10 mm and 12.75 mm. The cue is 58.0" long and weighs 19.1 with one shaft and 18.6 oz. with the other. Complete with a 1x2 black Whitten case with the Gina logo on the tip.
