Hmmm... sounds like a good moneymaking idea to me...
I see your point, but nobody has to buy the web site. Barry can make up any other name he wants: "BSzamboti.com", "SzambotiRules.com" etc... This person is just trying to cash in on the name, but really, selling web site names has not worked well for about a decade now. You can make up any other name or even use a different suffix.. like .net.
Don't worry. I think Barry has the Szamboti reputation firmly in hand.
It's a brilliant idea. And buying and selling a name, any name, especially when there are probably 200,000 Szamboti's in the world is a great money making effort. I'm sure Szamboti.com is worthless just as someone else pointed out. And like the other user said, nobody has to buy it. But there is a sucker born everyday as they say.
But then nobody has to buy cues either from people who broker them on ebay when they don't even own them. Hummmm..... Zero invested, and yet everything to gain. WOW......the audacity!!!
I would rather own and control, then leverage someone else's items and use that persons ignorance as a hedge. That is taking total advantage of someone. It's my opinion when someone jacks up the price of a cue they don't even own, then sells it on or off ebay that that person is the lowest of low.....Don't you agree?
Szamboti, Ferrari, Bugati, Bulgari, Maserati ....... what's wrong with owning those names? Premium names as well. BSzamboti.com?? Szambotirules.com??? Those are worthless if you know anything about domain names and the way they are valued. Do an appraisal on those and let me know what you come up with.
If you are supposedly selling premium cues, at premium prices then obviously it would make the best business sense to have a doamin with the EXACT name in it. Take classicues.com for instance. The value of this name is marginal to to none to say the least, yet the person professes to be on the Internet since it's existence. Why doesn't he own CueSticks.com or CustomCues.com?? Names which say exactly what a person would be looking for when searching custom cue sticks on the internet.
If he's been doing it so long and knows anything about domain names he would know that the word classic is searched 90% of the time in reference to cars only. Not cues or cue sticks. Custom Cues are the highest priced cues in the world. Wouldn't it make sense as a true businessman to own a domain with the precise premium related names in it to what you are selling on your site.?? May as well own classichousecues.com And Highendcues??? Sounds more like he's high and sell cues.... Even FancyCues.com is a more comon sense approach name than HighEnd.......really!! Use your head.
Again, a clear case of ignorance and the lack of doing thier homework before aquiring a doman name.
Sounds like someone is jealous of free enterprise from Highendcues statement. Like I said, Szamboti, like Schick is merely a last name. Or a name period. What someone does with it to capitalize on it is pure genius. Like owning a name like SchickCues.com is great for traffic as people pay per click without even knowing it and the owner makes $$$. Especially when it's not trademarked. I think the stupidity in this case is the cue makers not protecting the name by trade marking it like a true business man would. I don't see the issues as Szamboti is NOT TRADEMARKED.......again, pure genius on the sellers part of that domain name. Szamboti.com on ebay......gotta love it!!!
Only my opinion.
If Szamboti.com makes the seller $1000, $2000 or $5000....... it seems the only one to blame is Szamboti if that name is so precious and worth it's weight in gold. Don't you agree? If his cues are selling for that and more, wouldn't you think that the domain name with ONLY SZAMBOTI.COM is worth more than a cue he sells. After all, the wood and materials are worth $200 at most. To glue them together and sell them for $5000 is the real robbery here. Not buying a name who's worth is in the thousands, and then selling it. Especially when it was available to anyone to buy. Seems anyone who's name is Szamboti has missed the boat as they had every opportunity to buy it before the seller of the name now who's listing it on ebay.
Just my opinion though obviously..............
But what do I know
