I plan to release a freebook of new shots that were not printed with the first collection of the America Birth Era of pool. The book will focus on important table layouts whether for practicing, competition strategy, entertaining a crowd, having fun on a date, starting a club or team at your school.

I am reaching out because I want to self publish in multiple languages. I plan to use online translate features. This is a test before printing materials designed for all federations. Adapting the language to local usage is what I need most help with. I can make a template for LaTeX users. Printed materials are useful for areas without internet access. Usually a player goes on the road and those handouts or books are what help the local community. Its time to start a publishing revolution in pool.

Robert Byrnes has shared so much knowledge through books and the publishing company made several editions. Also fun to note are several contributors to his book are alive and active on the forum.

However todays pool world is different. The proliferation of new rules, racks, shafts and tips has added layers to the original pool skills.

Sample Topics

Journaling your own shots
Reference Historical shots
Classic Set Shots
Fun Party Shots
Template breaking
Breaking from the box
Jump shots
Guaranteed Two way positions
Three point rule breaking
Two shots for position play
Scouting your opponent with shot leave
Making original artistic shots
Best Shots for social media
Best shots for beginners
Starting a club
Becoming an official pool representative

Aren't you working on self playing tech?

The publication will provide a platform to present advanced billiard tech.

A new pool publication will be designed to help players understand the global demands of their profession.

I don't think the word "advanced" means what you think it does...

I found some leaked info. I am interested in critical shots. One enthusiastic writer submitted the following:

The book will have to expand to include humor.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ping.

Help with proofing the translations.

Books are banned. But instructional pages or printouts are more challenging to censor.

Which languages should be targeted first?

Arabic, Korean, Portugese, Spanish, German, Finnish, and Ukrainian.

Its doubtful the language support at google is equally developed for translations of all languages above.

I will mock up a document in a bit. Thanks for showing interest, its motivating.

If you can read Chinese, Arabic, Korean are the translations good enough for the literacy level of pool players in their countries of taxation and residence. I am testing two sentences:
1) Billiards is a great game played by one or more players.
2) Practice the draw shot 100 times everyday. Practice only the draw shot for less than one diamonds length apart.

Google should loan some cloud resources to AI projects increase the quality of its language translations. It might need better data to train its machine, data that doesn't exist. Which leads to the current project of translating pool to other languages. I am not doing the Euro languages because most Euro players speak English well enough. Its the Asians that never really picked up English.

Do you even play pool?

There has to be chapters for the bias of refs in certain countries.

Everyone knows who the ref was that ruled in favor of Earl despite not calling the correct ball in a world 14.1 event. That is American bias favoring their heroes.

There is a lot of admiration for the men.

The women are the trouble makers. More pro women players have been banned globally. The bias in governance shows targeting of players from the federations. Players will argue times have changed and governors need to be more open minded.

That type of thinking is what causes players to be lured outside of sanctioned activities and eventually banned.

In older more mature countries sanctioned activities never change. Sanctioned roughly translates to god given power or authority of community.

A chapter on airport travel and which airports have the least amenities.

A chapter on how to make friends and roommate with an American, ...

Staying healthy living on the road.
