Hello all how much does someone think this cue is worth. Its a merry widdow southwest with two ring works one at the joint and the other at the butt. It is the only one of its kind to be signed by jerry franklin himself it says killer on the cue. Some of u no the cue. I just recently picked it up and was curious on what u think the price is on it. It also has about 8 shafts. Sorry no pics at the time but will post later when i get my camera fixed

I don't know... considering the shafts... custom OB's and Predator, plus the original SW's, I'd say that there is 2200 worth of shafts ..*edit*.. ok maybe less than that.........

I'd say 4K is reasonable considering it's rare.... But $3800 would be a "good" price IMO.

Who is Jerry franklin!!!! Did he Marry a Widow some where in the South West? Why would you want to take photo's of a Killer anyway and why would you want to pick it up after all that!!!!!

The title makes it sound like Jerry signed HIS name to the cue, but I understand what you mean.

Who's Killer? Was it a pro, or just some dude?

I'm with you on this one."killer" means nothing to me. if it was signed "Jerry Franklin" that would be something completely different...and be very sought after

Besides that it's not "signed" it's an engraving. I too thought it was a cue that was signed by Jerry with his name.

That's a lot of shafts for this cue, was someone searching for a "hit" that the original shafts didn't provide???

why is everyone bashing this sale? STFU if you don't have anything positive to say.....

A) it's not a for sale thread.

B) the OP asked for opinions on value. The fact that it is not really signed but instead engraved with Killer affects value. So does the fact that it has 8 shafts (for some positive and some negative).

So out of curiosity... what is the minimum value that people have to think it is worth before they can post an opinion?

It's a discussion. Why are you inserting a comment in the thread that HAS NOTHING to do with the cue or it's value to the market.

I followed the link provided and NOTICED that Laurie specifically states that the word "Killer" is an ENGRAVING done by Jerry. NOWHERE does it say that Jerry "signed" the cue.

So basically someone asked Jerry to personalize the cue for them. Big Deal - this DETRACTS from the desirability for me and others. Especially in light of the fact that it is sort of presented as if this is something special. OMG proof that Jerry Franklin actually touched the cue - bump the price to $8000.

As for the shafts comment it just strikes me as funny that SouthWests are legendary for their "hit" and yet here is one with many extra aftermarket shafts customized for the cue. This doesn't detract from the value IMO - it's just unusual.

So please practice what you preach and either add to the discussion with some opinion as to what you think the value of the cue OUGHT to be or keep your comments to yourself.

wow, you're sorta out of line there bud. what are we supposed to say? 5k-10k? is that positive enough for you?
attitudes like your make AZ a weird place to try and price items.

I think the "Killer" being engraved on the cue adds no inherent value at all, of course it was done by Jerry, unfortunately its not centered well and looks like crap in my opinion. I would value the cue at about $2000-$2500 and would not pay that myself for it with all the shafts being as thin as they are. I think it's an interesting cue, but definitely not a "goldmine" find.

JMO,

Doug

Have to agree...
INTERESTING!
But no added value above a standard Merry Widow of the same vintage.
At $2500, would hope there was a Whitten custom 1x8 case with the cue as well.

DID I MISS JERRYS SIGNATURE IN THE PICS?

THIS CUE HAS BEEN "AROUND".

I'M NOT GONNA PUT A NUMBER ON IT, BUT I'LL SAY THAT THE ADDED pERFORMANCE" SHAFTS DON'T EVER SEEM TO ADD VALUE TO SW CUES, NOR DO I FEEL THAT THE ENGRAVING OF A RANDOM WORD ADDS ANY VALUE TO IT.

UNLESS THE KILLER WAS MANSON, OR BUNDY, OR EVEN A FAMOUS ROAD PLAYER.

GL WITH THE CUE, WHATEVER YOU DO WITH IT. I BET IT PLAYS GREAT. THE OLDER ONES USUALLY DO

Marcus

P.S. ONLY ONE OF THE SW SHAFTS LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL. THE OTHER 2 WERE EITHER MADE AT A LATER DATE, OR BY SOMEONE ELSE. THE RINGS DON'T LOOK TO BE DEAD ON EITHER.

The killer actually takes away frm the price for me, and with the engraving looking like hammered munky chit really hurts it....and with all the shafts and size of them is NOT a PLUS either. To me, this cue would be worth 2000-2250 at best. Now if there were points...it would be worth more obviously

Just so everyone knows...

I was selling this cue for a friend of mine that lived in Dubai..Personally I never thought it was worth this much, but it was what he told me that he wanted for the cue..I guess he came to the States and sold the cue while he was here..He's usually in the Florida area...That is where his family is at..Lots of money
