The Shane/Earl $20.000 match

Never heard of it. Surprises me that Earl wants a rematch after the beating that Shane handed him the first time, and it's not like Earl has been playing lights out the last few years, imo.

What happened to this match that was suppose to happen this mo.?

I spoke to Mark Cantrell about doing a match up like this when Shane was headed for the Texas Open.

Earl had a long list of stipulation which included finding him a backer! LOL. There were others that I can't remember. Breaking from the box was one, nine ball was another. Shane had to wear arm weights! J/K.

Don't think this will happen. I can say this........Shane is looking more vulnerable as of late than I've seen him. I CAN see some people stepping up to the plate. Now more than ever!!

(Earl IS one of my favorite ALLTIME players) FYI

Alright, I'll confess. I cleaned Shane out a while back giving him the 7 in 9 ball and he doesn't have the money to play Earl.

Sorry guys, I know you were looking forward to that match.

Earl wanted to break from the box and play on a table with 31/2 in pockets. that was his biggest deal.

Did Corteza requested these when he played SVB? If you know you are a match to the guy then you will not ask for anything, just beat the guy down.

That's 1.55 ball widths pocket size. Normal pockets are 2 ball widths.

I'm afraid Earl will lose by even bigger margin on such tight pockets. Shane plays better position and will not be intimidated. Breaks better too.

God help him if he matches up with the guys from Taiwan liku Wu or Yang who play on very tight equipment for hours every day.

Watch out for Earl soon...

Word has it he is totally rededicated to practicing, playing, working out, his health and getting "it" back.

I for one, sure hope so. Pool play has evolved similar to that of golf. Show no emotion, even keel. Where have the Chi Chi's and Trevino's gone?

Also, in 9 ball there are few shots taken anymore with less than a 70% chance of success.

Sports psychology be damned, I want DRAMA!

re: earl v svb

i think everyone is underestimating earl, i think he is coming back to his best, in my opinion svb is very overrated. i think earl would take him out breaking from the box, and playing on tighter pockets...
go on earl!

Cool!
