TOI Sore Arm?

The past week or so, I have started carrying my TOI game to the tournaments. I guess I am using different muscles to get that acceleration needed to produce the deflection every time. My muscles in my wrist and top of my lower arm are actually sore. I have been hitting everything very firm but I'm dialing in on playing the correct angle for a firmer stroke. I have to say... It's a different game

Yeah Pete, its a different game all together.

After using different spins and speeds to send the QB where I wanted it to go for the last 50 years, now I'm using just one (TOI). TOI is way simpler to use than spin and speed.

I have spent well over a hundred hours just shooting balls in, from different angles, just to see what the cue ball would do after contact.

I have only recently started to play position for the next shot.

In play, I use TOI whenever possible, because I can control the cue ball better. (no over spin or too much speed)

Even with TOI you still have to feel the shot and this takes practice and a lot of it. In the end though it is the best approach to the game. IMHO.

I think it was Willie Masconi that once remarked that "the only thing difficult about pocket billiards is.....people". There is a lot of truth to that statement. So, the old saying goes "KISS" and TOI does just that.

Like CJ says, you only have to master one shot and that is TOI.

I can hardly wait to see a young man or woman learn this approach to the game, it will be exciting to watch them on ESPN winning a championship.

Keep practicing, I am.

Have a good day.

Yes, this type game is different for sure, and when you get the hang of it you will have a very intimidating game as well. Very intimidating indeed. ;)

Yes, I had a whole section on the stroke and how the wrist/hand/forearm is used to produce more acceleration and accuracy.

I may have to do another video on the stoke. This is another technique that needs to be addressed with many players.

The Thread was "Wrists - A hidden power catalyst or just along the ride"...I think that was the name or close to it...it had a LOT about the wrist motion and how to improve it's participation in the stroke.......CJ
