Tony…I told him after he broke it looked liked he was on a tightrope balancing himself. 😁

Missed by many. 😞

He used to break em hard and bring that leg up in the air like he was throwing his whole body into it.

Tony broke like a national league pitcher throws a pitch...just amazing. Really enjoyed watching his matches miss him and Ginky.

I was fortunate enough to get to play both Tony and Ginky. I played Ginky a bunch of times at Amsterdam Billiards in NYC. Tony showed me how to jump over a ball using just the shaft, but I couldn't do it. They were both great guys and great players.

My leg used to fly up on really hard breaks. Not planned, just automatic. With my anemic twelve mile an hour break I have now it seemed silly so I deliberately trained the leg flying up out of my break. Never seemed to be an advantage as far as break speed, just a matter of balance when I went with the big break.

My break really is pretty pathetic these days. Of course I am comparing it to my break at 25 years old. My big break wasn't a big deal on a nine or ten footer but it hurt my ears and those of the people around me if I went with the big break on a bar table. Sure did like that bar table break, balls hunted holes like rabbits when the shadow of an eagle passed by them.

Now with a weaker break the first couple balls bounce out of the pockets if I hit the rack hard on a bar table. I usually made a ball eventually but I decided a still wimpier break and getting those first balls to stay in was easier on me. I don't flex in the same places I used to!
