Trying to locate my old cue

I had a Cue made for me back in 1964, in Evanston Ill. I lost it in a game on 63rd Street in Chicago, to a guy named Mike who was a bouncer in a Bar on that same steet. Actually, Mike was a proffessional boxer and a pretty good player. ( Beat me that day )

The cue was a Titlist conversion with a Brass Joint and White/green speck lined wrap. The cue weighed about 18 oz. It may have had some Ivory Dots above the points and some dots in the points. Had one shaft.

It had my name on the forearm-CUSTOM MADE FOR THOMAS C. RICHERT. (Written very fancy.)

If anyone has it or may know where it's at, please let me know, I would like to purchace it back.

Thanks, Tom Richert

Wow! I feel for you. That's gonna be tough to find, but you never know. With your name on the cue I guess you're a step ahead though. Best of luck with it!

Trying to find my old cue

Thanks Chris,

Yeah,

My name helps, this is the place to put the notice out. It seems that every one who has played, is playing or wants to play, plays with this web-site.

I appreciate the response.

Thanks again.

Good Luck

Try checking with some Chicago cuemakers! One of them may have put a tip on it! I am suprised you can't find the old boxer. His name might come up in some old news papers.
Good luck my friend, and fellow Cochran owner!!
Nick :)

is it a Rambo cue

^ I was thinking the same, but Evanston? Closest thing to there was Spain/Petersen. Unless Laubbe rolled thru town.

My Cue

I believe it was one of the first cues made / converted by Craig Peterson.

He was working out of a back room at Howard and Paulina Billiards in Evanston.

He was really young, so was I, this was about in 1963 or 64.

He used to watch me practice 14.1 on a snooker table before I went out to other pool halls to get into some games.

One day he asked me if I would like him to make me a cue ?

I said sure and he went and got a Titlist and showed me where he would put a brass joint, the wrap and a few inlays ( dots ).

That cue played GREAT !!!!! 18.5 oz. One shaft.

I've owned two Rambows, one I won in a game and one I bought from Rambow when he had his shop on Wabash in Chicago, just inside of the Loop on the second floor of the building he was in. I paid $ 60.00 for both cues

It does have my name on it just above the points, " Custom made for Thomas Richert ", written very fancy.

Anyone have it, contact me. I'll definitely make it worth your while.
