I would have given the OP action, but there isn’t an advanced players list anymore. Mike‘s only way to prevent a calcutta is to wait until the last minute to release a bracket. Stinks for those of us who want to bet before the event starts. Personally, I like Lee Van Corteza’s chances.
Why does Zuglan care about Calcutta for this when he has them at most tour stops and takes 10%? The man is an enigma.

do you mean black backpacks aren’t allowed
or people with black skin are allowed?

the bodies in duffle bags are allowed
but jump cues and template racks are not?

makes no sense at all

I’m talking about an on-site calcuttta, not one on this site.
Sure

But people keep saying he doesn't post that players list because it leads to gambling.

What not posting the players list leads to is minimal interest in his tournament. Upstate Al had 375 viewers for Mika vs Sossei on Friday night 8pm.

I had over 4,000 viewers for SVB vs Earl on a Wednesday night 7 years back , the day before Turning Stone the first event we ran at my new pool hall. That's after being told I could have " his pros " play at my place. Should have heard SVB laughing about that one.

People wonder why pool goes nowhere. Because those in the game are territorial, short sighted and mostly in it for personal gain.

I couldn’t agree more.

Can someone remind me what happened between Strickland and Alex p. They said an incident happened and earl hasn’t come back. Maybe I’m getting old but I don’t remember what that was.

Not a lot of A list talent there, I wonder why so many pros are done with this tournament?

My money is on Moritz Neuhausen
Most smart folks avoid western, ny this time of year. Today's high is 27, low 18 with wind making it feel five to ten degrees cooler.
And luckily for them this year, unlike some years, no blizzards.

Upstate Al has blocked so many people that the FB stream is starting to be exclusively for people who never dare to criticize anything or crack a joke.

it was the player with a thai name, bucky something, not alex.. earl put his hand in the pocket and bucky asked what happened and earl forfeited. nothing physical other than maybe the usual cue abuse. at least i don't think mike banned him

Part of Al's low numbers are directly related to him. I personally can't watch any of his streams with out the mute button.

On the stream they are talking about SVB having won 78k playing craps...and didn't come back to play. Zuglan banned him.

Was it the a prior one? I don't believe he was on the list this time.

This happened a few years back. Story goes he had to leave because he had nowhere to deposit his cash winnings.
Looks like he last played TS in 2020, so it was likely 2021 when he cut out early.
