I just received a cue I purchased from a very reputable seller on the forum here and though the seller said the forearm of the cue was straight, it is significantly warped. I am writing this thread because this is not the first time this has happened to me here on AZ by a very reputable seller. So I know everyone is gonna say, well just send it back, and that's all great, because I'm sure the guy will take the stuff back, but my issue is this keeps happening. We were supposed to have a deal for a certain amount of money for a certain cue in a certain condition, now these sellers have not held up there end of the bargain, so here is my question to you azers:
1. What is the demonition in value of a given cue due to a warped butt? How much less % would a said cue be worth with a warped butt than straight?
2. What kind of Itrader rating do you leave someone if they send you cues that are blatantly not as described, but then take them back on a return? Ya they made it right but I still feel like I got screwed out of the deal and my time and added aggravation. What do the veterans do in this instance? I plan to ask for some money back, but how much is it fair to even ask for? I'm just frustrated because this keeps happening. Below are the pictures of the said warpage. Notice that the warpage on the butt end extends past where the wrap starts and on the joint end extends past the end of the points.

If he stated it was straight then you have every right to ask for your full purchase price refunded. However, things do happen in shipping so who knows if it was indeed straight when he shipped it. Did you have insurance on the package? If so, have the seller file a claim if he contends it was straight and get a refund that way. Then use the cue to hold up your tomato plants. :p

Sounds like a negotiable issue between the buyer and seller. I don't think there's a standard percentage refund for warpage. You're the damaged party...what do you want to do? Talk to the seller.

No excuse for it!

I feel your pain.I know when guys say taper roll on the shaft, that means warped in my mind,to what extent, who knows?People always say roll each piece separate.Clearly that butt is crap and there's no excuse to why its that way besides that it's crap. The seller would have to know before posting it's straight that its not.You might here some people say it might be the wrap or some other issue thats causing it do that but it's not,it's clearly warped bad.You should get a refund back plus your shipping fee back and a apology for wasting your time.An experienced seller knows what he's selling, unfortunatly some of them use it to there advantage!Goodluck

That cue butt is nowhere near straight and it was shipped that way. If something happened during shipping it would have been quite obvious before opening the box. I'd make the seller pay to ship it back along with a refund of whatever you have paid him including the original shipping charges if any.

Aside from a waste of my time that would remedy the situation. If the seller doesn't like that solution call him out here so we can all be spared the same situation.

Completely unacceptable.

There is no percentage that I could be refunded to make up for that warped butt.

Send it home, get all your money back, plus shipping, and demand an apology for having wasted your time. Maybe demand the apology after getting the $$$. ;)

I, too, have had way too many disappointments in az trades. I feel your pain.

Best,
Brian kc

Oh ya

Don't let the old excuse that something happened in shipping caused the warpage cause it can't unless it came from country of odd climate to yours. If your shipping box was not damaged, neither was your cue. When something happens in shipping the cue is usually broken not warped, and every night the mail trucks are emptied to there stations inside so there not left outside at all.I've heard that excuse a few times on here also.

Wholly Shit ! That cue is worthless ! Would you be able to resell it ! LOL
Get your f#cking Money back.

Question is, this cue was part of a large package deal at a great price, so how much of the package is that cue worth? a few cues and a case for under 500 if I recall was steal with or without the cue, so again, question is, what is fair compensation for that cue alone.....

I agree with what others have said, any reputable seller will give you a 100% refund.

As to your second question, if he returns 100% of your money I would give him positive I-trader. The point of I-trader is to track responsible sellers, if he refunds all of your money or does whatever it takes to make things right then he is repsonsible and doesn't deserver negative I-trader.

Take your refund, put it behind you and move on. Anything else is just you further investing your time and energy in a negative. Why? So you can be right? What does that get you?

Send it back and get your money back and be done with it.

Thanks

Kevin

wow, what a ridiculous response, in 20 minutes like 20 people saw this and 10 posted a response. But only 1 person said anything about the itrader rating, what itrader rating do you want this person to have when you go to buy something from them??? The previous 2 times this happened to me I ended up giving positive feedback because I was offered to be fully refunded, no questions asked, but as this continues to happen I wonder if this is the right thing to do for AZ. Lets get some response on the itrader issue.

Jemerson, Thank you so much for posting, what a great rack! I think the agreed upon price is kind of irrelevant, weather he told me it was straight and sold it to me for $100, $300, or $500 I don't think matters, this thread isn't about weather I got a good price or not, its about the sellers description. With that being said, please write something else. Love those titties!

Sorry you saw my response as ridiculous. I wouldn't presume to tell you how to act, my bad for trying.

Thanks again

Maybe you all should start requiring sellers to post videos of the cues being rolled. Surely that's not a problem with all the cheap video cameras available. And just about everyone has a video function on their phone these days.

As to your deals, you got unlucky to get a couple bad ones in a row. Most of the time the deals go off without a problem.

I would ask for 100% of the money back that the cue was valued at plus the shipping fee. No one will pay you for your time spent. That's just part of life you have to suck up. Just like the phone company doesn't pay you for the hours you spend trying to get something resolved.

As for Itrader I'd probably not leave any feedback. That's based on the chance that the sender really thought he sent a straight cue and if he gives you no hassle with the refund.

I wasn't saying don't worry about it because you got a good price, I was curious what you the buyer thinks he should do as far as compensation, since there were so many elements in the deal.

Coincidently, her rack wobbles, too!

I think Kevin is right - that you have to get this out of your head quickly and move on.

I think you are spot-on regarding itrader, but itrader is totally worthless anyway. Seriously, I have had a seller here pull the same b.s. the poster is complaining about...TWICE. Why? Because he was so apologetic that I pretended like this wasn't a scam. The bottom line is that sellers want to make money, and if they get stuck with a warped cue, or cue with non-original or warped shafts, many are likely to conveniently omit those facts, and just hope you don't notice. I even know people that won't complain, and just keep the warped cue or shaft, even though they DO notice it. That's exactly what the seller is hoping for, and it's super-quick cash in his pocket.

But, yeah - get a total refund, including shipping, forget about it and move on. And do whatever you want with itrader, as it's completely worthless anyway.

Yeah, for me if it results in a refund its "no harm no foul". Anything else you are just prolonging the negativity and who needs it? Save the bad feelings for those that try to pass off substandard goods and then claim no refund. Life is too short. Just move on to the next.

For me, and this is just for me, if I'm unhappy and ask for a refund and the seller gives it up easily, I post no feedback or positive feedback. Again, if the experience is negative, I'm really just looking to get it behind me and move on to the next.

Thanks again

Kevin
