Looking at my table last night I noticed that there was only one rail that has hardened up and only half of it has. I thought this was strange until I looked directly above it. In the ceiling above the rail is an air vent for both AC and Heat. I am guessing it was heat that caused the rail to become hard. Anyone else experience this?
 
Vents..

I have my table in a converted garage. It has a vent above it, closer to the head of the table. This vent is used for heating and cooling, my rails are as perfect as they were on day one. I also have 2 ceiling fans in the room.
I have been over a few peoples' houses that have a window near the pool table. If th sun hits the rails, that may cause the hardening a bit. I never heard of a vent causing a rail to harden. How hard does the air blow from your vent?
