What did you buy at the Derby City Classic?

Seems like every year once the DCC was over, everyone used to post their pickups from the Derby.

Since nobody started it, I thought I would try to get it started. I will admit there was some discussion that each year less and less vendors are there, making me wonder if the booth costs have increased or the amount of sales doesnt justify the money spent.

I normally buy a cue or two, but only ended up getting Balabushka shaft. I sent it to Pete for verification, and it was confirmed.

So what did you pick up at Derby? (Post pictures unlike the OP)

Tried to buy a Fellini case from Don but as usual, couldn’t get him to give me a price lol

Nice pick up on the shaft!!!!

I fear the Super Billiards Expo is heading in the same direction. Each year less vendors. Last year they even had a booth that was selling hot tubs if I remember correctly. Didn't even go near that booth.

Used to be everyone was there selling pool related items and it was very fun.

Hope the DCC and Expo remain strong for many years to come.

I didn't recognize any difference in the number vendors at this years Derby. The usual suspects were there and Jeremy even had his own dedicated table this year. Capone and Castillo got there a little later but that was the only absence I noticed. Derby has always been a smaller sampling of vendors as far as I recall.

Hard to beat the internet. That and The derby’s just a bunch of tournaments for the players the expos a little diff as it’s more centered in just the industry of pool itself I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon, either one.

Eric Crisp’s Personal Playing Cue

I wrestled Eric Crisp’s personal playing cue away from him two weeks ago today at the Derby. I’ve named the cue Point Intersected because it has points that intersect the bridged points, and it has a crap load of points. Eric is making a set of joint protectors for the cue right now, each with a matching ring. I’m going to post photos of this cue when I get the joint protectors next week. Eric told me this cue is the most difficult cue he has ever made.

Vendors were in tall cotton at the EW, when it went to the casino it went downhill and has ever since...100%. High prices and tight pockets are not all to blame, the cost of the excursion is hard to offset. For those going there to sell, you better pray you can move at least a $1000 product simply to offset your expense if you plan on staying the duration...thats why I switched to the phone a friend technique

I called Julie last minute and she found a booth spot for me..it tuned out great, and I really had a good time. I wish people put their AZ name on their shirt..

I did sell a beautiful Mottey cue to who turned out to be, Lollygagger! He's a twisted dude but really enjoyed meeting him..he's a lot of fun.

I really appreciated all the folks that came by to check out what I brought..and say, Hello.
