I've owned quite a few great hitting cues. I use to collect them but finally I just gave in and sold em off. The ones that stand out were:
Scruggs Titlist
Purpleheart Southwest
early 70s Joss (my previous playing cue)

The cue I have played with for the last 10 years is a 70s Gus. Its a tremendous hitting cue and a good testimony as to why Szamboti cues were noted for playability.

Best cue?

I wish the cue I had stolen from me was still in my possesion, it was a one of a kind Schon that Bob Runde made for me when he was still part of Schon cues. He made it exactly the way i asked him too, which was to duplicate the sneaky/hustler that I was playing with at the time. I do really hope to get it back some day....

Now I have a Tim Scruggs custom, one of a kind that I designed and Scruggs shop made for me, back in 1995. Tried to have them make me a cue that would replace my stolen Schon and I believe they succeeded in doing that. The cue hit just the way I expected it to and felt exactly the way I thought it would. Weight, hit and balance all did what I wanted them to do. Just wish I could still play the way I know I should be able to, multilpe sclerosis really sucks!

Predator

Love my P3 with the 30" Z2 shaft. I used to use the P2 until the P3 came out. The P2 is now my backup and loner cue for when someone else on the team forgets or doesn't go home after work to get theirs. I leave the Meucci at home now.

Joel Weinstock, Skip Weston, Alex Brick,

I've tried just about every cues out there (harris, SW, Gina, Scruggs, etc) but these 3 cues plays great for me. Don't get me wrong, Scruggs, SW and many other custom cue play awesome but for some reasons these cues just fit with my style of play.

1) Joel Weinstock is about 21.5 0z, 5/16-14, stainless steel collar. BE Forearm...classic bushka style cue.
2) Skip Weston, Ivory joint, 3/8-10 pin, purpleheart forearm, just sweet and clean. 20.2 oz

3) Alex Brick, ebony on ebony, 3/8-14??, 19.5 oz.

Regards,
Duc.

I have a Scruggs Sneaky Pete, a Mark Bear Sneaky Pete and a custom Espirutu.

I would have to rate my Scruggs as my favorite.

Incidentally, I just ordered another Sneaky Pete from Bob Frey. I already know my next SP will be a Josey after reading this thread. I just have to decide whether to wait a year or go ahead and order now.

My Schon S-14 was the best cue I ever hit with. I miss it, but I have an 83' R12 that feels almost the same.
