What is the biggest match from argument?

I had something happen to me, and just got to wondering what was
the biggest match you had or almost had as a result of an argument
with someone else.

One night our Valley team was playing at another bar, and on the other
team was a guy I have never cared for much, a real good shooter, but
with an air about him that told you he thought he was better than anyone
else. My big brother was on my team too, he is a well known and liked
attorney in town and a good player too. Anyway, something happened,
and my brother, and the other guy got into an argument, and the other guy
made some snide remark, and my big bud has a quicker temper than I do,
I am usually pretty laid back. Things went back and forth, and the other guy
said he would shoot my brother some, and my brother asked him if he would
shoot me for some money, and the other again said some snide remark, and
my brother said okay, that he would put up 10 dimes and we would play, that
we could play 1 big set or 3 to 5 dimes a set with sidebets on the side.

The other guy backed down, and my brother asked him how much he wanted
to shoot for, and he said, a 100 or 2. My brother said that wasn't worth it,
and that he had to put some money where his mouth was. The other guy ended scooting all the way out of it. I was in the booth waiting to play for league, just asking if I was going to play the money match or not. I sure would have liked to have had that money match ... for sure ... And my big
bud always backs up what he says ... always ...

So people should be forced to bet up money that they may not have to lose just to prove some macho point? Why wasn't the hundred or two worth it? Hell why can't a point be made with out money involved??

Your brother also "BS'ed" himself out of the match. If he really wanted to shut the guy's mouth, he should have left you beat him, and given you the 100 or 200 bucks.

Ok landshark

If not the Open then maybe Valley Forge?? It also depends on IF I have five dimes.....apparently you have to feed, clothe, and shelter babies. I have also been hearing them suckers are not potty trained so they need lots of expensive plastic and cotton. Maybe we could play for Pampers???

Ive only seen that scenario about a billion times. Usually it's a bust-out trying to high roll someone to the point they wont play.
