There were a few threads months ago about Bonus Ball and the pros supporting/endorsing it.

Has it died?

Have any members played it?

Good question.... They had the tournament, some youtube vids and haven't heard from it since then. There was an article in some internet news source, but I haven't read anything else about it.

It looks as if the lack of responses is the answer.

Lack of interest.

The video and description looked too complicated to me and didn't appear to be anything that would catch on.

Its kind of a cool concept. I have played it and the way it was set up originally was more more the advanced player. I think they have more Tourneys scheduled and theyare also trying to set up leagues all over the U.S and Canada.

Bonus Ball will soon be replacing Snooker on television in Great Britain. j/k :grin-square:

Its alive and well. They are putting $$$ into player pockets as we speak. They are doing some behind the scenes biz right now before they really launch the game, they did a soft opening, and are learning from their mistakes. But their checks cash and are timely.

JA loves it, he isnt bullshitting me, I know him too good for that. He actually likes it-if he didnt he would tell me and I'd keep my mouth shut. but thats not the case at all. He thinks its a great game on the square.

I will talk to him today and see what else is going on with it, We havent talked about it for a few weeks. I will pass on what he says. But I do know this-the guys behind it have invested BIG $$$, are putting $$$ in players pockets and its out of line to make light of them now. Its really a good thing and hopefully it will put more cues in peoples hands.

so go easy on them because they are busting their asses, paying players so in my mind they dont deserve anything but respect.

best

not to hijack this thread-but your right snooker is have a time of it. they havea new game. powerball snooker, played with 9 reds. check out the snooker forum and there is a link there. Barry Hearn and ronnie O' are behind it. they are going to put mic's on the players have hott girls to look at etc. a total switch from the lifeless suits running centuarys every inning. What they have is dieing a slow death so they are responding with a make-over. A big Make over. Bowling did that a few years ago and it saved their tails.

OK back to bonus ball......

No offense Eric, but if they're busting their asses, where's all the PR? Where's that hack who was hijacking every thread a couple months back to pimp Bonus Ball? There was no stream & very little write up about the event.

Don't get me wrong, it seems like a great game that seems to take all the challenging aspects of pocket billiards & packaged them together into a very TV-friendly game. But when you're just starting out, you can't just sit around for a couple months and let the buzz die. It has to be constantly built upon, otherwise it just makes everything that much harder.

I hope the loose the spinning table lights that I saw on YT!

oh yeah... that one match was like in a circus show or something.

i think it's an interesting idea, and i'd definitely be interested in following the games/season/whatever. but i imagine they're all pretty busy organizing and preparing for a lot of the other major, and established, tournaments. (us open, mosconi cup, etc)
