Played a lot of pool in there back in the day. There were a couple of 10' snooker tables too.
There was a game room at the college I attended that I held class in more often than class. Lol. One 10 footer, (snooker) and Six 9 foot Gandys.
I was sad to hear they'd removed all the tables and converted it to a student's lounge or some shit.
Only reason I kept up my alumni dues. 🤣
Ol black dude named Jim ran it. Heck of a player for his age and being blind ta boot!! Lol. I learned a helluva lot about life and love from ol Jim. Even a little pool.😂
First class spinmeister. He could weave a tale and have you hanging on every word. Miss ya Jim!!
Good times.

In my town, the college game room, 7 GC 4's. Charges $3 per person per hour. Not bad right, it's PRE-PAY for time!! They ask you "How much time do you want", put you on a timer, come get you when time is up. No, they are not busy at all.

At the Moose Lodge in Bend, WA it is their yearly fee with 2 nice 8 footers and free pool. Basically the same at Snoqualmie Eagles, but the tables are going downhill with "stripped rails" causing the cue ball to bounce on contact. Besides that it is $1 a game or $10 an hour table rate, but they have free pool sunday, monday and tuesday nights at my league sports bar with four 8 foot bar tables nicely maintained.

At the pool hall I run, rates are $3/hr per person until 6 then $5/hr per person. We also have monthly “memberships” at $150/month for unlimited play.
We rotate changing out the cloth roughly every 3 months (14 tables), balls are polished after every use.

The newly opened pool hall by me charges by the table size 9'= $9, 8'= $8, 7'= $7. So i guess i am paying $9 an hour. No special rates yet. Other places around me do such a thing so i would expect this place to do something eventually.

Does anyone know why they took the pool hall, bowling alleys and probably arcade out of the U of O EMU? So many great times there, probably too many, ha!

Good question. I miss those days for sure.
We have a bar with 6 Diamonds now, $8/hour if you have a $20 bar tab, $10/hour with no bar tab. Or $1/game.

Do you know Russell Cearley? I've always wondered what the Eugene / Springfield pool scene is like now. Looking at various places we played in the late 80s and early 90s, the Cooler is down to 2 tables (from 3) and they look to be 7 footers now (I could have sworn they were 8' when we played league there). Luckey's is more of a night club / live music venue now (do they even have pool tables?).

Eugene has always been one of my retirement choices, but if the pool scene is dwindling I might stay in the Seattle area. That's at least 8 years away though, ha...

Russ is still down here. We've been good friends for decades.
He is the tournament director for the Roadhouse.
He used to give me the orange crush for $100/set at the EMU! Played BCA 9 ball (teams) with him for years and years too. I'm close to his speed now, but he was good when I first started.
There's still zero pool halls. Luckey's has 3 OS 8s but they're in terrible shape. The only diamonds for years were in a shop me and some friends have been renting. It has produced some good players though, several of our members have done very well in Lincoln City.

At Shooters Billiards in Port St Lucie FL it's $75.00 a month play all day, or $7.00 a day. Great place, Diamond tables.
