What is your largest run vs 9 ball ghost?

JB and I had a wager a while back and if I could run five in a row against the ghost on video he was going to leave AZ forever. He gave me a month to do it. This video was from that very day and was the only serious attempt I have ever really made to deliberately run any kind of package. My attention span isn't generally long enough. You can see by the end of the video why JB is still a member here. He skated by the skin of his ass :) I was on four a few times that day before giving up with this one and letting him off the hook.

Scratching on the nine in rack three doesn't count? ;) :p

I beat the 9 ball ghost 1 time in a row a couple of times. My next goal is to win 2 single games in a row. After I can do that I will start to worry about beating the ghost in a race to 7 or 9

I'm right there with ya' Bro. I posted my personal best of a four pack a month or so ago and the thread I started asked about the rules of playing the ghost. There were a lot of different opinions but the point of my asking is of the four, one was the nine on the snap and another was a scratch on the break (of which I dropped three balls other than the cue) but I still took the cue in hand and than ran out. So, by harsher standards some might only call that a two pack. Regardless, I'm normally very happy to make one runout. On the rare occasions I make two I'm thrilled. Of course, no body is handing out trophies in my game room so it's just a way to practice and enjoy the game.

I ran 27 on a really tight table in Atlanta on a table they call "Jaws"

I have recently set a personal best at 10 on my 9 foot Olhausen - plan on beating it soon. I find it helps me focus my practice when there is a very clear goal.

I ran 27 on a really tight table in Atlanta on a table they call "Jaws" for obvious reasons. I had a player in Mobile (from Atlanta) pull me aside that had witnessed it and ask me how I did it....I have NO idea. maybe with just a "Touch of Inside"?

I played the "Ghost" against Dave Favor for 400 a game and ran 19 in a row in Melbourne Florida when I was in my early 20s. My standard offer was to give up 8/5 on the money and bet I could break and run out on any table (that wasn't gaffed).

Later I played the 14 ball ghost and could win by breaking all 15 balls and removing one of my choice. Then playing like 9 Ball shooting all balls in order, the 15 being the last ball unless it was made on the break or the ball I chose to remove.

Welll a little low

My high run against the ghost is 3.

A lot of my game involves safety play, and frankly I am not a "break and run" player.

I get into ring games and I practice against the ghost, but when I am playing 9 ball or 10 ball, I don't attempt to run out each rack. I try to win each rack.

That nine was straight in and the cue ball never hit the head rail after the shot. I pushed the cue ball down to that end of the table with my shaft after the shot but it was hard to see at fast speed. I wish I could make the cue ball do that :)

Here's a slower look at that one:

Yep ... I see it now. My sincere apologies. You are about the fastest player I've ever seen!

Quick question about playing the ghost. Do you always have ball in hand after the break, no matter what?
Also, can you combo the 9? Or do u have to run out 1-9?

I think that's standard procedure. Geez I hope CJ did on those unreal runs.

The premature 9 needs to be negotiated with the ghost ahead of time. I play that you have to run out, although you can make the nine early and then run the rest.

Anyone else have this problem?:

my ghost sharks me. :o

Yes, my ghost leaves flatulent gas clouds appear RIGHT WHERE I happen to be standing! How does he do that?
