Here is the shot. I am pocket A my opponent is pocket B, what do you do? There is a tonne of shots here, but i am looking to see if someone comes up with my solution. I can't remember where every ball was exactly, as it was early in the game. There may have been a ball or 2 off the table, and some of the balls were in different spots, but this has my shot in it. Here is it is:
WEI Table

START(
%AP1F2%BX3N3%CS3N1%Da4H1%ET8O4%F^0Q1%GQ5Q9%HS9K3%Io1M7%JL5U1
%KQ1T0%LN7M1%M[7Q4%NR5U9%ON2N9%PJ3Y3%QA9B2%RA7[7%S`2_1
)END

I think the pack was a little tighter, but the balls were mainly out of the triangle, and grouped a little higher then they usually would be.

Ok, you got me. Thats what i did. But it was a real nice shot in execution. Here is how i executed.

START(
%AP1F2%BX3N3%CS3N1%Da4H1%ET8O4%F^0Q1%GQ5Q9%HS9K3%Io1M7%JL5U1
%KQ1T0%LN7M1%M[7Q4%NR5U9%ON2N9%PJ8Y0%QA9B2%RA7[7%S`2_1%WO5Z5

The 15 was not availiable for the pocket, but the 12 was a makeable thin slice again. the 11 went off the 7, then up table, and the 7 went near my side. I think i made about 5 or six balls from there. It was just a shot a never really considered before because it was a really thin slice and i couldnt let the cueball go. At high speed the 10 trickled in, so maybe im not showing the angle correctly. I went for it cause i figured the 11 could be used as a backstop and control the ball well enough to not leave a shot in case i missed. It worked out perfectly, and i learned a new shot that moved balls away from my opponent, towards my pocket, and also made a ball, with decent enough shape for a medium tough shot. I liked this shot and just wondered how often a shot like this comes up? I havent seen it in any matches i watched.

Looks to me like a good angle to play a carom. I'd shoot the 10 ball with a "nip draw" stroke to carom it off the 15 ball towards your pocket and draw the cueball off the rail and behind the 14 ball. Emphasis should be on sticking the cueball as close to the 14 as possible, frozen would be ideal! This should also put a couple of other balls in play for you! Your opponent should be in real hot water from there!

Yeah, if you feel like frewheeling, you could cut the 10 ball in, but you can't tell what you'll end up with as far as position, because you'll have to turn the cueball loose. You may run out, but you could also end up in a trap! I'd play the carom with cueball control and try to win on the next shot!

just more hot air!

I like this option. You got all the control. Jam them up on the rail and behind the 14 and they are in a world of trouble. Should you make it 14-11 Combo and make a bunch for your trouble.

Your shot looks good but could have gone really wrong. Overcut ball and have the cue ball trickle up table and you'ld be on the other side of a beating.

Still you made what looks like a great controlled shot. Did Doug say oh-my?

If you like the cut on the ten, play it, but in view of the cue ball speed you'll need to get the ten to the hole, you can't be sure of not selling out. a reasonable gamble, but I do not agree that the shot has much downside protection.

Nice call Sherm. I'd try the same shot. This was exactly what I was going to post but you beat me to it. Good call.

shooting the 10 is too risky in my opinion........

there's quite a few options on that table that are better.

Doug says he didnt see it and was surprised to see a ball go in my pocket. I like that other shot too, but, with the angle i had, controlling the cueball wasnt a huge problem. I had to hit it with speed but i knew i was gonna hit the other ball full, and be able to get some draw back to where he couldnt make a ball. The way i figured it, even if i missed the 10 was going to be over my pocket.
