Thought this would be interesting since we all probably base our opinions on the "storys" we read on here. Tell me who you think are the top ten players in AZ Billiards forums, no Pro's or yourself allowed in the list!

:D

It's early in the morning and I'm still trying to shake the cob webs out. Here is a list of a few who I know are atleast A level and probably much higher.I will edit and update my list later on because I'm sure I've missed a ton of players.

In no particuliar ranking order, here's a list of ten AZ people who can play a little:

SJM
Tate
The One
Williebetmore
Jude Rosenstock
Superstar
Fred Agnir
Rude Dog
Nick B (a local A+)....this guy rocks!!!!
Rackmsuckr (Have to put a girlfriend on the list) :D

Superstar
Matt_24
thebighurt (100% for sure)
satman
Rod
Tommy-D
onepocketghost
Gerry
JoeyA
Snapshot9
Pharaoh68
Mike Templeton
Rude Dog
Blackballed

Agree with names mentioned but especially the following:

Jimmy M
Steve L
Satman
Black Jack

1. Keith McCready - a legend amongst mere mortals
2. John Schmidt - Mr 400... 400... I wish he'd post more than he does
3. Danny Harriman - IMO, one of the greatest players in the world today
4. Jimmy M - His ability has the respect of everyone on this forum
5. SJM - the quintessential gentleman of Azbilliards
6. Bob Romano -shoots pretty darn good on those little tables
7. Tom Ferry - R.I.P. - Tom showed us all that age is just a number
8. Craig Riley - I think he has the potential to run that 100 (possibly more)
9. Girlwon1 - IMO, the most dominant regional tour player of 2005 -
10. Jennifer Baretta - Class, beauty, brains, and the desire to exceed... no secret as to why she has been so successful

Don't forget Colin...I suppose he's technically a "pro," but not sure if he really fits that description....yet. :)

And how about the kids from South Dakota?

Blackjack,
You must have missed this part of the original post ... "no Pro's or yourself allowed in the list!".

Since no pros are allowed, I assume we can not pick any of the great pro players who have forums here, or known members of the IPT, or others, like Black Jack, so that narrows the list quite a bit.

From posts here and personal knowledge about some of these players, here is my list, in no particular order:

Steve Lipsky
The One
Jude Rosenstock
Cornerman
Black-Balled
SJM
Girlwon1
Bob Romano
Cuequeen
PamelaNJosh

I know "amateur" is a grey area, but if we're talking 14.1, I'll go with Lipsky. Steve seems to throw out 100 ball runs like it's a business card ;)

Good point Eric, I was thinking about it, I claim to be Pro on my site but thats out of date now really. In tours like UPA, Euro Tour etc you simply have to pay your money and you are technically a "Pro". The criteria I would use would be if its your main source of income, if you have a full time job different to pool then I would say you are not a Pro. Not the best I know but just MHO.

Best get Scott Lee's name in here. He's a high quality competitor....SPF-randyg

There's so many great players it's hard to name just ten, but in no particular order I've heard the following players can make a ball or two;)

John Morton (Rudedog)
Craig Riley (Theone)
Jimmy M
Tina Pawloski
Steve Lipsky
Blackjack
sjm
williebetmore
satman
cornerman

Cheers Jeff,
Hard to discern what a real pro is, but knocking off known pros is probably the best guage. We'll have to wait to see how I do:D

One thing for sure, is that there are a dozen or so pro and fringe pro level players posting here regularly / semi-regularly. Dozens more who who are heads and shoulders above good league players and we also have regular pros who browse the threads and keep a low profile for obvious reasons.

In other words, I think there is a lot of talent floating around here.

Dang, that's a tough one. In no particular order:

Steve Lipsky
satman
JimmyM
RudeDog
stevelomako
IronDon55
ZigZagMaster
TheOne
Superstar
TheGoldenChild

Several of these guys have disappeared from the ranks of frequent posters. I have purposely left off SJM (who I think is not concentrating on his playing at this stage in his career).

P.S. - You should all remove me from your lists - just because I'm going to beat breakup like a red-headed stepchild doesn't mean I can play. I talk a good game though.:) :)

OOps... ok... then I'll double dip... I scratch Schmidt, Baretta and McCready, for personal reasons I'll keep Danny Harriman there ... and I add Steve Lipsky, Jessica Barnes, and Jamison Neu.

1. Steve Lipsky - Hope to meet him someday -
2. Jamison Neu - Awesome at pool and artistic billiards
8. Craig Riley - I think he has the potential to run that 100 (possibly more)
9. Girlwon1 - IMO, the most dominant regional tour player of 2005 -
10. Jessica Barnes - a nice lady with unlimited potential.

Tough to say because I don't know everyone here but from who I have seen play or heard about their game, here's my short list.

Jimmy Mendoza- His game has sky-rocketed in the last 10 years and if it
weren't for his job and family, he would be one of the top
players on any tour.

Oscar Dominguez- This kid was destined to be a great player and is probably
only a couple of years from being one of the best.

Shane (S.D. Kid)- Never seen him play in person but from what I saw on BCn
against Keith at last years U.S. Open and from what I've
read in the recent past, not too many players are going
to like it within the next year.

I think there are too many to list but these three really stand out in my opinion. Their games are just so solid, focused, and they're all young. I see big things in their future as far as pool is concerned. Peace, John.
