Which veneer colours???

I know I'm not in the right section, but I didnt want to post this in the main forum because it just doesn't seem to fit in with all the other topics there.

I need help picking the colours of the veneers for my cue being built..

its going to be ebony on ebony(really dark ebony), non-figured Juma Joint and Hoppe ring (the veneers will be around the hoppe ring too) and black linen wrap.... i was thinking flame coloured veneers but still very undecided.... PLEASE HELP with some suggestions of what you think would look good

One thing that might make things easier would be tell what your favorite color is....then maybe readers could offer suggestions on a combo that includes that one color. Otherwise, you might get input that's all over the map/palette. Just a suggestion.

well I really like blue and red, I was thinking about red white and blue but thought it might be too cheesy.

You could do a transition effect; kind of: blue, purple, redder purple (lol), and then red. That should stand out fairly well. Though, I don't know how you feel about purple.

I kind of like the purple idea. Maybe natural/maple, red, light blue, purple....from the inside to outside. You could even add a black or double up the outer one if the cuemaker can do 5 veneers.

I really like that idea. Have you ever seen a cue with this done? Trying to get a visual picture of it

We've had several done like this minus the red...but i think it would look nice. I'll post a few pics later today.

Veneer color

You could go with titlist veneers, they seem to look good with any wood combo. That's just my opinion, I have a sickness for titlists right now.

Flame veneers done and done a lot.

Blue, purple done a lot lately.

I recommend looking at old Gus and George cues, then make small changes.

I agree that's why I'm hesitant on flames and using blue and purple. Looking for something different, but sharp. Thanks for the post I'll look into the old ones

We've had several done like this minus the red...but i think it would look nice. I'll post a few pics later today.

Here's one I found quickly. It's got a light blue and a purple together, but the purple looks a little more magenta in this scan than it does in real life. To pull this look off with a red thrown in there, imo you'd need more of a violet/purple or deep plum-purple, not magenta.

Also, on an eb-eb, cue, you can forgo the outside black and add another natural/maple.
