All pool players have to watch this. This is Dale, he is an old guy who absolutely loves pool. I met him a few years ago at the derby and he plays at rooters 21 poolroom. He is absolutely hilliarious, he told me he had a match at 6:15 on table 4, I told him I would be there and I would not miss it for the world. I asked him who he was playing he told me I dont know who that guy is. Well I get to the table and he is playing Shane VanBoening lmao, Shane didnt know what to think about Dale and Im pretty sure he will not forget him, I believe Shane thought it was some type of joke.Dale actually beat SVB 1 game, something not very many people in this world can say. After the match I went up to Dale and asked him if he realized who he just played, he replied, no sir I dont. I said you just played the #1 player in the country SVB, he said oh really. Lol please watch this all the through I could not stop laughing, I just wish everyone enjoyed pool as much as Dale!! PLEASE SHARE SEE HOW MANY WE CAN GET!

Dale (edt: Dell) is an innocent pool fan. This is his third or fourth DCC. I can only smile when I see him every year.

That is the guy who taught Lou and John how to play one-pocket. He took some time off to go to DCC and teach SVB 9-ball.

My buddy who was there at that match had told me about this old guy who didnt know who SVB was. I thought it was funny.

Friday night I was looking for a table to warm up on for the 9 ball Mini. Most of the tables were being played on and I wasnt sure if some were still matches from the main event.

One table was being played on by an older man who seemed to be just firing the balls around so I asked if he was warming up for the mini. He said he wasnt and offered to give up his table if I wanted it or he would gladly play a few racks with me. I was thankful for the offer to play a few racks so we did.

The guy was friendly and polite, though a little over talkative. At one point he said "nice shot", and then asked if I was bothered by that kind of comment. LOL. Apparently someone had told him that it could be considered sharking.
Anyway after we played several racks I had to go to the players meeting and said bye. Later I saw this video and realized who it was.

Very cool video.....here's another example of Shane showing class calling out a guy who went off in the comments about it.

The guy who played Shane, Dale or Buck or whatever his preferred moniker, came to the attention of myself and a friend on Sunday night when matches were wrapping up. We were in the balcony and saw him down on the main floor shooting the same 2 shots (a cross corner and a 1 9 frozen to the long rail combo) for at least an hour. He was so into it, and jumping and gesticulating on every shot. It was very entertaining, and although he didn't make very many you can tell he loves the game. The facebook post with Shane is hilarious, and it's no surprise he handled it with class. Only in the world of pool baby.

Hey, who is the good looking dude who got the most "likes" in that thread, NOT named Shane ;)

This idiot flaming Dale was a complete goof, acting high and mighty and ranting about Lebron James having to play against some amateur.

Why does it have to be "...he's an OLD guy..."
Why can't it just be "...he is a man who absolutely loves pool"?
I'm sure to many people Mr. Dale is NOT in fact old.

Just curious is all. No insult intended.

Well, I disagree with Shane...he called the DCC an 'amateur' event....
...it's an 'open' event.....otherwise, he couldn't play in it.

But I agree with you that Shane shows a lot of class.

Totally agree. He's not "old", he's just a little seasoned.:D

His friends should tell him to invest in some of Earls butt weights, I thought he was Whitey Stevens from upstairs and watched him for a few shots, he was already jumping up before he hit the ball.
It was pretty funny to watch him pointing at spots and doing pool player "stuff" and he had the "bunny hop" going full tilt., lol.
If he had fun, that's all that matters, he paid the admission fee.
