We all miss things…..last two times TRex played the Lion, he got 8-7 and lost handily.
JJ calls Alex the best one pocket player on the planet.

alex is still the best one pocket player imo. but tony is my favorite for his aggressive style and creativity.

Skyler is my favorite player. I played often with him when he as 13-15 or so.

I have interviewed just about every pool player, none of them had the desire that Skyler had. Skyler didnt come from alot of money when he got playing real strong a local backer took him on the road. Prior to that he just wanted to play pool. His dad was a strong 7 in APA, so they battled on the table often. But Skyler continued to improve could beat his dad pretty easy.

There are some great players in Paducah, Kentucky but I never saw any of them help Skyler when they could have while he was younger.

He is like Nick Varner, Johnny Archer as he is a pleasure to be around, and great for the sport.

I am really proud of him.

I left the women players off my list.
I am a man and I support women in sports.

Jasmin is fun to watch. I hope she has a big breakthrough but usually suffers from some tough shots.

Allison Fisher always reliable and playing the right shots.

When Karen Corr did a comeback that was fun, she had been promoted heavily
on ESPN.

If you see Jeanette Lee live thats a family fun pool show.

On the younger side Tkach. She plays the shots I can see.

Last for best: Kelly Fisher for her speed and efficiency on the table.

I assume there will be no inappropriate comments about supporting women's pool or women players.

It sounds like you never spoke to Earl or Sigel, both of whom were known for playing 100 hours of pool a week in their formative years. It's no coincidence that they are both among the five greatest American pool players of all time. Also, Skyler would never suggest he was more driven than SVB.

I have interviewed both of them. While Earl years ago was a force to be handled. He is now just a shadow of his former greatness. I dont know if it is mental health or drug issue but he has turned into a circus act.

Sigel for years won (or nearly won) every event he entered. An incredible talent, but an incredible a$$ as well. It is rare for me to not root for an American player, but being around him at tournaments and his cue booth, he certainly was an incredible jerk.

I have never interviewed SVB, and actually have only seen him play at Derby City. The first year that Skyler was at DCC, he played SVB many, many times. Skyler was just a youngster and he was getting his brains knocked out by SVB, but he just kept coming back trying to match up with him when he outmatched.

As I noted and you obvously missed, while SVB is an American ambassador for pool and the sport. Both Earl and Sigel are really black eyes for the sport. I think real champions are great on and off the table. Compare them to Johnny Archer, Nick Varner AND SKYLER.

You said that none of them had the desire that Skyler did. There's nothing in your post that backs that up, and I still disagree with this statement.

That said, the factors you indicate matter very much in deciding who your favorite player is, and I can see from where you are coming. Your favorites are your favorites, and for any reason(s) you choose.

Hope you're well, Ken.

always liked jim rempe and nick varner when i was a kid. (nick varner did a real cool thing at a STL pool room for some kids a few weeks or so ago - makes me like him even more).

john brumback is a cool dude. forghetaboutit.....

playing style/ability/etc - hard not to root for cory deuel and tony chohan.

alex seems like a genuinely decent guy as is bergman and woodward.

there are few "pro" or "top" players that are douchebags - but most are alright guys from my personal encounters/observations.
