I'm a newbie, so first off, hello everyone.

I picked up a Brunswick Titlist today. It's the black label so I think it is a 1960-1970. Could someone please date and ballpark appraise it for me?

Thanks in advance!

Your cue is from the late 1960s - early 1970s, made by someone other than Brunswick - probably Schmelke or Adam.

Why is it stamped Brunswick and have the Hoppe signature?

Brunswick outsourced them, that's why. Just like the Asian made McDermotts and Vikings etc....it's just the branding.

It could be Asian. Schmelke was involved with them too, so it might be a Schmleke. I am fuzzy on that period. Maybe somebody else can be more definite.

Don't let that get you down. Schmelke made (still makes IMHO) good blanks...and Adam made great splices too. Some people like the later ones for the more vibrant color in the veneers.

Does yours have the numbers stamped near the joint on both forearm and shaft? If so it is definitely Asian.

Looks like it is nice shape.

Thanks Chop.

It's only stamped 20 once - no stamp on the shaft.

I didn't give too much for it so I'm not too concerned - i just like to know exactly what i've got It's in great shape. No major dings or issues with the wrap.

I appreciate the assistance!

these can usually be found on ebay for ~$200 - $250. The earlier one with the ivory hoppe ring and ferrules are the ones that bring at least double that if i am not mistaken... nice cue none the less to either keep like that or have someone convert it.

One just sold on Ebay with the ivory Hoppe ring for $250.......

If you watch and are ready to move they do come up.

Any of them continue to have strong value though.
