Pretty good tournament and congrats to Kaci. Only drawbacks were a) the loose pockets which did not befit a world championship, b) the absolutely terrible commentary, and c) the fact that the top 2 walked away with 44% of the total payout. The event is clearly still a work in progress, but it's moving forward.

Kaci got a couple rolls (who doesn't to get to the finals), but played superb in all the matches I saw of him. What was interesting to me and although somewhat subtle, he seemed to have the edge in safety play in all the matches, including against FSR in the finals. He doesn't play as smooth as some of the other elites and really hits them crisp, but when you consistently hit center pocket like a damn sniper, I guess it doesn't matter. Was really some great pool all week, for free!!! Loved it.

the 2011 world ten ball champion? Did I hear that right? Also, i find it odd that the BCA president would be there considering the BCA doesnt do and has not done much for pro pool in forever.

Did that ball skid or did he miss it that badly? He came up a little short on the shape on the 4 leaving a tougher shot that he should’ve had, and then looked like he rushed the shot once he got over it.
It skidded. He needed to be a bit thin on the 4 to go naturally two cushions toward the 6.

Better yet, what happened to Tony Robles? Wasn't he the announcer for these predator events last year? He was really good.
Kristina has such a monotone voice it is hard to listen to. She is pretty knowledgeable for such a young player. Too bad Joe Rogan didn't do the finals, but actually, his "pool" knowledge is slightly limited. I don't mean Mr. Rogan doesn't know the game, we all know he does and is a pretty good player himself. I think his high-end commentating is a little weak and understandably so. He didn't quite know what the players were going to do. What a great asset to have Joe in the booth at all. That's why I like to hear JJ. His pro experience, knowledge, and insight are great to listen to for experienced players and fans.

Edit, I blundered: That was Huidji See. Wow, I thought I was seeing another player.

Kacis defense was ultra strong. Offense too don’t get me wrong. But damn that guy can move.

He can play so strong on the clock but is unwatchable when not.

I watched a Vietnamese channel. Didn't understand a thing but the guy was spot on and engaging.

FSR's surge up the pool ladder has been pretty fascinating. He's been around for a while. It's not like he came flying out of the gates like Filler. He didn't really hit his stride as an elite player until he was 30 years old. Until 2021, I think most people viewed him as little more than David Alcaide's "understudy" and perhaps a third- or even fourth-tier pro.

Some of the other pros who are in that high 700s/low 800s Fargo range should be inspired by him.
Ruiz was 3rd best European player back in 2015, I recall being puzzled why he wasn't in the Mosconi cup mix. I posted this back in Aug 2015.

The prize money REMAINING (after the top 2 walk away) is
more than DCC 9-ball total purse,
more than TWICE the Turning Stone total purse,
more than International 9-Ball total purse, and
more than the total purse of TWO Eurotour events (that have 200+ participants.)

I know you prefer a different distribution. I don't agree on that point.

The tables are about the right difficulty, imo. There is a balance. You need enough runout ability from the best players that the first to take control of the table matters, but not so much that a lot of the games have no back and forth that involves BOTH players skills in the same game. Here, of 254 streamed games, there were 32 runouts among the world's best players and no runs more than 2 games (quarter or fifth of a set). That's about the sweet spot.

George seems like a nice guy but he's not cut out to "carry" a match like he is here. Better at a supporting role. What happened to Jim Wych?

i agree, seems like a nice guy but unfortunately that doesn't cut it. compared to JJ and boyes the predator production is way behind here, it's not even close. jim wych as a play by play commentator is too far removed from the modern game. shouldnt be too hard to get a recent pro who speaks well enough. corey, schmidt, someone like that
