Well, I just called the casino and they told me that there is no where to get a network connection in the casino. So, that means that any updates I am able to provide will come after I get back at about 1 am! Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Thanx Zack...anything you can give us will be great. :) Here is the link to the brackets. Please note that they are still blank, but it is still early in Cali.

Zack,

Like I asked you relax and enjoy the tournament the brackets will be completed by monday morning on the WPBA website. Myself I am not interested in highlights of players I don't follow.

I am playing one pocket this weekend and following Sarah Ellerby by cell phone. Expecting her to have a great tournament Tiffany and Kim too.
Thanks but relax and enjoy ;)

Brackets are in. Best of luck to New Yorkers Gina Kim-Lipsky & Liz Schwartzreich who both have their work cut out for them! Be nice to see some upsets in NY's favor this time around!

I feel bad for these seeded players that always run into Kelly Fisher in the first round. It's happened to Allison and Julie, and now Hsin Huang. This is like when Karen wasn't seeded yet at the BCA a few years ago and Gerda in the first round. Does anyone know when she'll get her touring status? I know that even though she's ranked 13, she can't be seeded because sh'e not technically a touring pro yet.

If I remember correctly Sarah and Melissa could possibly face off in the second round, how are on of our girls gonna win one of these things if they are facing each other :)

I liked that little pick your pony game we were playing last time. I am gonna do it again, lol.

My first round picks:

A. Fisher, Hines, Chen, Biddle, Hofstatter, Shaw, Dokovic, Morris, Webb, Calhoun, K. Fisher (I think it's gonna be tough, but in the end I am gonna call Kelly  ), Smith, Kelly (sorry Val, I want you to win...I just think Julie has this match. :( forgive me please???), Seaver, Nelson, Laurance, Lee, Paski, Herndon, Rousey, Kim, Rim, Villarreal, Little, Thornfeldt, Atwell, Ellerby, Hopkins, Corr, Paglia, Barretta, Minerich

There you have 'em.

That's because they've used them all to wire in the one armed bandits :)

Dave, who's kidding about the Casino, even though they do typically have sophisticated networks to control their electronic gaming machines ...

Sue Yen, Sarah R, Ikumi. and Ewa win first round also.

Wow, Hines and Seaver are on the losers side already. I would have never guessed. Are you there Nostroke? You are surely with the quickness. :) Thanx alot for the updates. :) :)

For the score keepers: Rousey got out 9-6 that's all I got though.

LMAO...OK. What's your wager??

Seriously, I know that you have prob seen Sueyen shoot...maybe you have even played her, I dunno. But Ms. Hines is pretty damn good shot herself. I have no reservations betting on her. I guess we need the score to determine how the race went.

The AZ battle

Well it's official. Melissa Herndon and Sarah Rousey face off in about an hour. :( :( :( I gotta pull for my sista though. Sorry Melissa, any other time I would back you. :(

Zack, this is the match I am most interested in at this time. If you saw this match can you tell us what you saw? I will most likely be sleeping by the time it is done, lol.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this one?

Should be a good one, Landshark, but you have to give Herndon the edge here. 2004 was Herndon's breakout year. Come to think it, maybe 2005 will be the breakout year for Rousey. Hey, why not? My biggest thought on this one is that I was I was there sweating it rather than here in New York City posting about it.

Oh, I agree with you 100% about wanting to sweat this one. But I guess it's good I'm not because I dunno if my nerves could take it, lol. And there is no doubt that Rousey will have to work to snap this match off, as a matter of fact the way the brackets fall for her is no easy feat, BUT she CAN do it. My money is on her, period.

Hey Dea...I'm interested in your thoughts on this one. I told you a decision would have to be made sometime, lmao!

Why does Cali have to be 3 hours behind??? Aghhhhhhh!

Darnget. WHY? WHY does this happen... Okay fine, here are my thoughts.

They are two great players, with different strengths that make this match somewhat unpredicatable. Herndon has been doing very well, but I think Sarah is freakin' tired of how things have been going, and is ready to break some silence and get the ball rolling(preferrably in pockets, duh!), and knowing what I do know of Sarah, and of course, knowing her better, I think if she wants this, she's Got it.

Happy now, are you, landshark77?! (and I did this for you, even though I'm injured..feel the love, cause it's leaving at the end of this message, lol)

Well guys...sorry to disappoint those of you who picked me as the winner of the Herndon/Rousey battle. I lost the match 9-7. I played really well I just couldn't get a roll....at least not a good one. At 7-7 I scratched on the 5-ball....turns out the table rolls off a good 4-6 inches....ouch. Then Melissa broke and ran out to win the match. Melissa now has to play Jeanette Lee.

There have been a few upsets. Ga Young Kim got beat by Leslie Ann Rogers tonight. She scratched on the 9ball hill-hill.

Jennifer Barretta and Megan Minerich were both beat by Helene Caukin. Helene is really playing well.

Janet Atwell beat Helena Thornfeldt after being down 7-4. She won the match 9-7.

Take care,
Sarah

Thanx alot for the updates, Sarah. :) Tough break on your match, but there has to be a winner and a loser...though I would have liked you to have been the winner. I'd call it the same way again. ;) The table rolled off?? Are you guys playing on the tables I normally play on or something??? YOU HAVE IT ON THE ONE LOSS SIDE.....

And NICE JOB Janet!!!!

It also appears that Laurance sent Nelson to the loser's side. I guess ol' Ewa got tired of the two and out game.

Ewa also knocked Tiffany to the one-loss brackets with a 9-4 win. Tough loss for Tiffany, but it's nice to see Ewa put some wins together.
