Hi,
A friend of mine is looking for a custom cue from well known cuemakers (e.g Tim Scruggs, Mobley, Haley, etc) with following requirements:
- 2 shafts
- Tip size: as close to 13mm as possible
- Weight: 18.4 - 18.8 oz with either shaft
- Joint: piloted 5/16-14 stainless steel
- Wrap: Linen
- Weight bolt: NO
- Hit: medium hit (i.e: somewhere between a Meucci and a Sugartree)

Must be straight together and apart

Escrow service preferred unless from reputable dealer

He got around 3k but can spend up to 4k if it is the "right" one. Tks

all PM replied. My friend was very specific in his request.
We have friends in the US so cue with ivory inlays and butt cap will not need to ship internationally.

That sounds like it should not be too difficult to find a cue that meets those criteria. Especially since a lot of what he wants seems to be the most popular attributes (weight, tip size, etc.). As far as "hits like..." that is purely subjective. A lot of people feel that the Meucci has a relatively weak hit.

I wouldn't be surprised if simply combing through the last few days of the WTB/WTS section turned up at least a handful that meet that criteria. Of course, finding a cue that meets those specs is one thing...finding one that also meets your preferences for how it looks might take more time.

Regardless, good luck with the search. 3-4K puts you in a position to pick up virtually anything but the most ornate cues from a maker.

Tks for your input. Actually, I have received a number of offers but just one cue was in the requested light weight range yet it doesn't have the SS piloted joint.
I understand that hit is subjective but my best description is medium and somewhere between a Meucci (soft hit) and a Sugartree (hard hit) as I have them both.
Anyone has a cue that meets the above mentioned requirements pls let me know. Thank you

Take A Look At The Following......

If you're not getting what you want in cue offers, you owe it to your friend to visit the folliwng cue dealers. They definitely have what you want and it won't cost your buddy $4k either. The available cue selections are enormous at the $3k range and at $4km if you can't find something you like, then pack it in because that will buy you a lot in today's notoriuously weak cue market.

I have personal experience working with Bill @ Cornerstone and Sean @ Cue Addicts and both guys are stand-up, straight shooters and you can rely on what they tell you. Don @ Sureman are also individuals I've had the pleasure of speaking with and these guys are very helpful and honest as well.

Cornerstone Cues has a trade in/trade up policy so you can always bring the cue back to Bill and trade it in towards another cue which is a really a veryt unique and desireable option. All of these cue dealer sites have used cues by some of the cue makers you mentioned. I'm sure that if you went to check out the cues just on the first four web sites, you'll score what you want and spend less than you imagine will be needed to get what you're looking for. But check out all the sites and see firsthand what's really available right now at this very moment instead of hanging out waiting for the right fish to come along which could be in minutes or several months.

If you find a cue on these dealer sites, which I know you will, you can always ask the cue dealer to list the cue on AZ Forum so you can execute the sale here, or buy at their website. You can also request using one of the Forum members that offer escrow services, but that shouldn't be necessary when you buy from a reputable dealer like the ones I've recommended.

In any event, good luck with your search.

Thank you so much for your advice. I very much appreciate it. Unfortunately, my friend and I residing in Vietnam and visiting those reputable dealer is, therefore, not possible.

Tks for your offer. Show him the 6th and the 9th cues. He loves SS 5/16-14 joint. What are their specs, respectively?
Light weight is important to my friend
