Your Largest win???

Hi Keith,
This may have been asked before but what was your largest win? I heard rumors you won around $400,000 for your stake horses in Vegas many years ago. Who did you beat and what did you play?
Also I was wondering if you had an opinion on why no one stepped up and took Bruce (Superstroke) Christopher's challenge to play anyone for $500,000 then $750,000? Or did someone? I always just thought he was a blow hard, but I came across a article on the Johnston City tournaments and there he was being listed as a top player at the tournament. Maybe he really was good. But he may have known he would lose, but would make money on the television as he was planning to broadcast it as a "television outreach" whatever that means. Just curious what you thought?

You got it about right, Cueman. I won 360,000 off a guy named Rosey from Detroit. He was a millionaire. We ended up playing 25,000 a game, 9-ball. I was giving him the 5-out. That was the most money I had ever played for.

Chris, I can't really picture the guy right offhand. It could have been a little bit before my time. I missed the Johnston City era by a couple years. So maybe that's why I don't know him. Ronnie Allen would know for sure.

Thanks for the reply. You were always very entertaining to watch and listen to when you used to come to all the events at the Wagon Wheel in Atlanta. I am the one who used to set up working on cues there. Maybe you should step it up a notch and become to pool what Fats once was. Just a thought. Pool needs it and you might be the one who could fill that need. Pool needs some color brought back into it.

Hey Keith, when you won $360,000 in Detroit, how much did you go into the game with? Did you have $360,000 to lose to Rosey? Just curious.

I've seen Keith player for 10hrs aganist Cliff Journer and win 5,000. Pay the pooltime, bar bill, backer and buy a cue from a friend of mine and walked away with 150 bucks. The money won or lost doesn't matter to Keith it's all about the show!

Cue tradeoffs...

Hi Keith -

I've got a Brunswick cue that feels pretty good -- I can draw with it pretty well and I like the feel -- - the problem is, for longer shots, it seems to deflect some --- the joint is wood to wood

I also have a Mali cue with a shaft what feels stiffer --- with this cue, I feel like I can control the cue ball better -- I can't draw the ball as well with it but the feel is ok --- the joint is steel

I was wondering -- what aspects are most important for you and your style of play? -- Feel, Control, Draw? and what type of joint do you have on your cue?

Thanks,

Quinton

Don't listen to him Keith. Whatever extra you make out of it (if anything) you'll only spend on pies.
