I look at a lot of miscellaneous youtube reviews mostly gun and knife reviews. Below is an example by a very prolific reviewer I like to watch. He is not the only one though, there are dozens of guys who like to show what they own and critique things.

In looking I have never seen anything even similar regarding cues. It just seems strange since I can find people who like to show equipment and do reviews on almost anything. ???

it is surprising, it is an awesome idea, I would love to watch reviews on all different kinds of equipment. I love the "whats in the case" series that insidepool used to do, they need to keep doing those.

always loved nutnfancy's videos, i proudly own and carry a pf9 daily in part to his reviews (fellow sheepdog here...:)
he seems to be a good man, with great philosophy (no, i'm not a fanclub member:)

i agree 100% about seeing reviews of cues/makers on youtube

pictures will show more detail, but something about being "shown" that just makes it hit home. his review are not so much in what some thing looks like, its all about how they perform/ or not perform, and of course the construction quality
he really puts the product through "real" testing - functionality, durability, price points etc - of course side by side testing to see which product suits your "POU"

now, the bad part about anyone who does reviews in this manor is that you need to "trust" their opinion, and if for one second you have a feeling of them being a salesman - well, their credibility is shot!

nutnfancy just seems so honest and extremely knowledgeable. and he's not afraid to say anything negative about any manufacturers products, a real straight shooter

I was saying to myself "Oh man please dont let it be nutnfancy he's talking about." LOL.

I give the guy props for the shear volume of stuff he puts out but to many guys who actually shoot and train a lot he's considered a bit of a joke. The ultimate gear queer. The guy does have a big following though and has built a big library but most of it is him rambling and spewing his own made up acronyms about a lot of guns and gear that no one who takes it serious actually uses. The dude was an Air Force pilot who flew KC-130's but I always get the feeling he likes playing Army just a little too much.

All that said the guy puts in a ridiculous amount of time on his stuff and I check it out occasionally simply for the fact that his following and what he's done on YouTube fascinates me. For me his stuff is great for seeing what something looks like from different angles if there isnt one local. His opinions I don't really pay attention to.

I agree 100% that the model could be a viable one for pool without a doubt. It would be a lot of work for little to no monetary return and YouTube can be brutal when it comes to feedback but I think people would probably watch if its done halfway decent.

Personally I would like to see one of the larger cue dealers or collectors do video reviews of some of the high end and historic cues out there. It could help them sell things and show them as an expert in the field while preserving some history for the rest of us.

It just goes to show you what a vacuum there is in the pool world. People come on here all the time asking about this cue and that desperate for information and you can't find anything on youtube, not even by the manufactures. If you watch nutnfancy you see the ones he does when he goes to a show.

He interviews the vendors shows products and so on. They get tens of thousands of views. I don't know, the more you look at it, it is like pool and the people involved in pool from every side are just backward, the world has pass them buy. I would love to be able to go on youtube and attend the BCA show or the Hopkins show. See new products actually see some of the people you read about and hear from them personally.

Again, it is like pool exists in a vacuum or some alternate universes then literally everything else. Heck, it doesn't take anything to do the simplest type of video, even if it is just someone showing their one and only favorite cue and why they like it along with the other stuff they carry in their case. Why not tours of peoples favorite pool rooms where they are located and a little about them. How many people here would have loved to see the inside of some of the most famous rooms we always hear about? I don't know, I sometimes wonder if it will eve change.
