Just wondering what would be a fair price to replace a tip? I found someone willing to do it for $15, is this in the ballpark?
You are supplying the Tip ?
That person has a lathe ?
Yes to both
Depending on does that guys know what is he doing:smile::smile::smile:
You reapir guy,I mean:smile:
But if he does this is really fair price:smile:
Does it typically cost more to install a layered tip vs single layered tips?
Albert does nice work there too...:smile:The going price at Fort Worth Billiards is $15.00 if I supply the tip. That is installing the tip and polishing my ferrule.
I usually charge tip price plus a whiskey and coke. I'm just a guy doing it for fun though
That's seems more then fair, depending on condition of the ferrule and shaft .

I charge $15 per tip, if supplied by customer. However, I will not stand behind the install of a layered tip for several reasons. One, the tip may be old and not install, trim or play well. Also, older layered tips may de-laminate during or after installation.
