Well, I've seen accounts ... although flimsy ... of longer streaks.

I also live right down the road from Springfield where the 526 happened and have never heard of a single witness to the event, a single person who recalls hearing of it until years later, or a single mention of it in the local media at the time.

That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but I place it in the category with Babe Ruth's 660 foot home run or called shot against Charlie Root in the World Series.
