    Anyone else have this problem

Lately I've been having problems reading the threads here on AZB. I start reading a thread and then I get to a reply from Joey and see his Avatars and forget what the thread is about. Sometimes I have to read the thread 2-3 times before I can make it past his post without starting over. If his...

    Leather wrap question

A customer contacted me yesterday looking for something to put on his leather wrap to make it a little more "tacky". It's a textured black wrap and it's just a touch too slick for his taste. Anybody have a suggestion? Thanks.

    Truman vs Brumback

I was looking at the matchups for this mornings DCC banks and see that Brumback and Truman are scheduled to play. I like both players but have to pull for the old man. I wish that I was there, I'd take a little odds on my money and bet on Truman, just to have something to sweat.

    Spalted Maple

I had a couple of pieces of spalted maple given to me. I'd like to use these pieces to make some points. As far as I can tell the wood hasn't been treated with anything. Is there a product that I can buy that will stabilize the wood and harden it up a little? Thanks

    Tax FYI

Might be old news for some, but I just heard about it. For those that do cue work as a business. If I understand correctly, This tax season, you will be required to provide the IRS a 1099 for every vendor that you spend $600 or more with. Just a heads up.

One of the country's oldest rooms closed.

Ace Billiards in Danville Ky has closed for good. We're not really sure when it opened but the owner traced it back to around 1907.It's had many owners and many different names but always had the same equipment. I've seen paintings of the outside of the building and there were horse drawn...

    Cues weight decreasing

I have an odd question. Lets say you built a cue for someone and when it left your shop it was 19 oz. After the cue got to it's new home, would you expect the cues weight to remain 19 oz, Or is it possible for the cue to get heavier or lighter depending on the climate. I would think a small...

    A-joint construction

Just replaced a broken forearm on a friends cue and took some pics of the A-joint while doing it. There was a huge gap in the old forearm where the hole was drilled about 2 inches longer than the joining pin. Not saying this is wrong, just surprised. This cue hit real good before the break, and...

    stainless joint question

I've never installed a stainless joint before, but was thinking about experimenting with an old house cue.
