    Pressed linen wraps

Do you folks recommend maintenance of pressed linen wraps? I have read about using wax paper, etc., but am thinking it may make sense just to let it go as the cue involved is a player (albeit a Tascarella) and I'm not overly concerned about its appearance. Thanks.

    Maintaining Polished Linen Wrap

Is there an effective way of maintaining the appearance of a polished linen wrap (in this case white with black) without a lathe, or is it best to just let it get discolored and lose its sheen? Thanks.

    negotiability of table prices

A local (DC area) dealer is quoting me $5600 for an 8 ft Olhausen Champion Pro, which seems high to me. Never having bought a table (the one I have is a junker I got using American Express points), I don't have a sense for how negotiable table prices are. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Kudos to Randy G and Scott Lee

I spent a day with Randy G awhile back and one with Scott Lee yesterday. Their teaching methods are similar, but as you might expect they each have their own insights. Both sessions were extremely worthwhile and I recommend them highly. There's an awful lot of information to digest at one...

    Cracked Hoppe Ring

I have a Hoppe-style cue from a very well known maker and the ivory ring has cracked. Is replacing it a major deal? Thanks.

    ISO Good Towels

I'm looking for good-quality plain white or solid colored towels with a fixture that allows easy attachment/detachment from the rings on a case. Thanks.

    Las Vegas Cue Club

I'm going to be in Vegas for several days starting on Sat., and plan to get to the Cue Club. It simply isn't practical to take a cue with me, and as I recall from prior visits the house cues are typically crappy. I don't suppose they have better cues squirreled away somewhere? Thanks.

    Pads for Ivory Ferrules

I've been told that pads are unnecessary w/layered tips since they provide sufficient "shock-proofing" by themselves. Correct? Thanks.

    Josswest Resale Values

I've read several times that Josswest resale values are declining. Does anyone know why that's happening? Thanks.

    Butt Dimensions

Is there a "standard" butt diameter (especially at the grip and the joint), or does it vary among cuemakers?

    Piloted v. Flat-Faced

My impression is that flat-faced joints are a lot more common that piloted ones. What are the pros and cons of the two types? Is one more difficult to make than the other? Do the two have different hits, or does it depend on the joint material or other factors? Thanks.

    piloted v. flat-faced

Do these two joints have consistently different hits or does it depend more on the joint material, cue construction, etc.?

    Scruggs Joints

I just got a "previously owned" Scruggs with a piloted steel joint. Looks to me as though his current cues have flat-faced joints. Anyone know when (and why) he made the switch?

    D & D Leather Wrap

I had D&D cue repair replace some linen wraps on a couple of cheap cues at VF last year and they did a great job. Does anyone know whether they also do leather? Thanks.
