I'd like to know what is the most balls you have ever made on a 9 ball break. I've made 6 on the snap twice, 4X8 with single shim pockets.

I made 5 and 6 a few times, and 7 once in a tournament final and had to push out because I was corner hooked!:)....then lost the game on a 3 rail bank.......ugggt hanks for that memory:)

It's easy to make all 9 off the break. Just put a brick under one leg and cover the CB with double-sided sticky-tape so that it doesn't scratch.

5 two different times. One of them may have been 6, I can't remember for sure, but I know at least 5 twice.

i made 6 once one a 4 1/2 by 9.........next ball was in the side and the other 2 balls were each in front of a corner, my opponent swept the table and walked lol, it was hill.

I made 6 in a tournament hill-hill and got out. (Ga Young Kim remembered it and mentioned it to me last time I saw her.) Made 5 twice. Made the 9 ball in one night 6 times, 4 were in one set. All on 9 footers. Made 4 9's in one tournament on 8 footers when they were paying $5 for every 9 ball break.

I break a little to the left of the intersection between the first 2 diamonds and use the rail to bridge. More power for shorties! I also have a strange little wind-up hitch in my stroke. I have only seen one other gal doing it and she has a monster break.

Just curious did y'all break from the middle or side of the table?

One of my 5 on the break was on a 9 foot most likely just off center from middle, the other was a 7 foot table probably about the same place.

Heh. The only time I ever made 6 (One a 9' table with generous 5" corner pockets) I squatted the cue dead perfect in the center of the table. The 5, 8 and 9 were left standing and the 5 ball rolled right up next to the cue ball leaving me no shot and no way to even play a safety.

Never made that many again but just today I made 4 in a real game. Left myself an awkward cut on the 2 ball and sold out the rack. *Sigh*.

About 18 years ago I made every ball on the table but the two yellow balls ( 1 & 9 ). I made the 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and the Q ball. This sounds hard to belive, but I have 2 people that seen it.

Mostly in a strange room I'll look on the table for the most worn out spot, and start there. My padd break is about 10" left of the spot, and I break open handed with a stop shot on the 1 ball. from there I adjust. Also, never forget to look where the 2 ball is racked, and adjust to where its going to most likely go. I learned alot about the break from Nick Varner...

Most Balls On 9 Ball Break

AfteR Only Playing A Couple Years, I Made 5, Thinking, Cool , My First Break And Run. Last Ball Rolling Kissed Off Another Ball And Hooked Me, Almost Frozen. Had To Push. Lost That Game By The Way.

Breaking ...

Bar Table (oversized 7') - I have made 7 twice,
6 a few times, 4 and 5 a few times.

9 footer - Made 6 1 time.

I made 5 a number of times-I have never run out from those breaks
I made 6 once-didnt run out.

come to think of it I only seem to run out when there are 7-9 balls left on the table after the break. wierd.

regards

nobody will believe it,,,,but

Folk lore about pool around here has it that a man named Harpo (Andy Bakerian) broke the balls back in the 60's and made all 9 on the break. The next rack he broke and made 7 balls and safed himself behind the 9. This story was told to me by both Andy and Dick Leonard (####leonard over on the CCB). Dick racked for Andy 1 day to see how he breaks and after about 3 hours Andy averaged a little over 2 balls on every break. Andy told Dick that it was his opinion that the break was all in the snap of the wrist. Now please remember that this is Pool Folk Lore. But i must say that i have no reason to doubt either Andy or Dick Leonard and i have known both of them most of my life...Andy has since left this world for a far better place....thats my story and i am sticking to it.......mike

There was this guy I knew who worked at the uni pool hall. He would always tell me dollar for the nine. So one day he told me that and I said pay up I'm making it today. Well, not only did I make the nine ball. I made a total of 7 balls including the cue ball.

Hey randy you think that is crazy I was playing my budie Tim horne of beloit WI on the 9ft table which was knowen to betight he made 11 ,9 ball breaks in a row! I was there dude, we were betting a dollar a rack. They went in the corners and the side. They were not all in the same pocket either. This is the most amazing thing I ever seen. I myself had made 6, 9ball snaps in a row before but 11 is crazy.

When I hit the 6 balls (not the same night), I placed the cueball about 3 inches to the right of dead center (on a Brunswick table, straight in line with the right or left side of the Brunswick metal nameplate. I adjust slightly depending on who I am playing, as most of the time, you can't get a tight rack exactly on the headspot as they are worn.

I broke and ran out one handed jackup (can't rest the cue on the rail) twice on an 8 footer.

Hope to have many more stories in the near future!!!
