JUST GOT BACK FROM THE THE POST OFFICE......

THE FINISH ON THIS CUE IS TOP NOTCH. NICE AND SMOOTH, AND VERY SHINY. THERE WAS CERTAINLY NO RUSHING THE FINISH ON THIS ONE.

THE ELEPHANT WRAP IS A VERY NICE PIECE, AND IS INSTALLED ABOUT AS WELL AS I'VE EVER SEEN A PIECE OF ELEPHANT INSTALLED. I TOOK 2 PICS OF THE SEEM TO TRY AND SHOW HOW NICE IT CAME OUT. THE UPPER AND LOWER FACING OF THE WRAP ALSO FIT VERY NICELY TO THE BUTT AND FOREARM.

THE JOINT IS A 3/4" STEEL PILOTED 5/16 14 WHICH HAS ME INTRIQUED. I'VE HAD 1/2" AND 1" BUT THIS WILL BE MY FIRST 3/4".

WHAT HAS ME MOST INTERESTED IS THE WAY THE JOINT IS SET UP. THE BUTT HAS A STANDARD THICK WALL 14 THREAD STEEL JOINT, BUT THE SHAFT IS THE PART THAT IS "DIFFERENT" TO ME. THE JOINT COLLAR ON THE SHAFT APPEARS LIKE IT COVERED THE ENTIRE BASE OF THE SHAFT BEFORE THE PILOT WAS INSTALLED. THIS IS ODD TO ME, BECAUSE I AM ACCUSTOMED TO THE COLLAR ONLY REINFORCING THE EDGE OF THE SHAFT FACING, AND THE INSERT BEING FITTED TO THE WOOD ITSELF. I'M CURIOUS TO SEE HOW THIS EFFECTS THE "HIT" OF THE CUE.

THE SHAFT IS A FULL 13MM, BUT HAS A GREAT TAPER ON IT. THE 13 DOESN'T FEEL "BULKY". THE SHAFT WOOD SEEMS TO BE A NICE QUALITY PIECE OF MAPLE.

I'LL BE AT MY POOLROOM LATER WITH A GROUP OF PLAYERS, AND WE'LL GIVE IT SOME TESTING FROM THAT "PLAYABILITY" DEPARTMENT.

AS FAR AS FIT AND FINISH GO, THE CUE IS VERY NICE.

EDITED TO ADD SPECS

SHAFT HAS AN IVORY FERRULE WITH BLACK PAD. WEIGHS A MASSIVE 4.4 OUNCES, AND IS 13.03MM

THE CUES ARE MADE IN BILL McDANILES OLD SHOP BY A NEW COMPANY CALLED "THOROUGHBRED CUES". THE CUES WITH THE $ LOGO ARE BUILT AS A FUNDRAISER FOR AZBILLIARDS, WHERE SOME OF THE PROFIT GOES TO RUN THIS SITE.

runde

my buddy bill morris had 2 runde cues that had the sort of set up on the joint end of the shaft. those played extremely well

Hi Marcus, I know it plays super b,as all high end Mc Daniels. The Piloted Shaft is normal for the Macs. That's why both Mc Daniels are not for sale.
Congrats,yours looks very nice,a Roadplayer.

This is the same way as my McDaniel, Schon and the new 314-2 shafts... I like it this way better then "just" a sleeve over the wood, it gives a nicer hit with the metal joint sleeve on the butt.

Nice looking cue!
Is it cored?

Thanks Marcus

Thank you for an unbiased review of your $ cue. The real test comes later when the cue sees action, and I am eager to hear the report of that aspect of the cue. These cues have an extreme amount of value built into each one, quality and features that should have the price in the 4 digit range.

This cue is cored, as are most of the $ cues. The only exception being Fatboy's 30 yr. old blank BEM cue. The shaft collars are done in a method that compliments the 3/4" joint and produces a consistent hit already made famous by Mr. McDaniel.

Every 5th. $ cue made is donated to AZ to do with as they see fit. We have made 2 $ cues available to Az, the first being paired with a John Barton quiver case, and look forward to giving back to the site we all enjoy. Currently, we have all spots filled for the 3rd. offering and most for the 4th. offering. If you have a chance to get your hands on one of these cues, do so with the confidence you are acquiring a top shelf cue. Here is the link that explains the whole concept:

GOT TO GIVE THE BEAUTY A RUN TONIGHT......

CUE HAS A GREAT FEEL TO IT. VERY SIMILAR TO A McDANIEL OR A SCRUGGS. I STRUGGLE TO POCKET WITH IT, BUT THAT'S BECAUSE I CAN'T PLAY WORTH A $HIT.

I'VE BEEN VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE QUALITY OF THE FIT/FINISH AND THE HIT OF A CUE WITH SUCH A GREAT PRICE POINT.

i got mine today too, WOW its great i am going to hit some balls with it in a hour

Thoroughbred

Very nice cue Marcus. Really clean and a great looking finish too. The elephant wrap was a nice touch. The logo gives it a cool 'Hustler' look.
