2010 Maryland Classic Series - Maryland State Bar Table Championship Just Added

Announcing the 2010 Maryland Classic Series:

The series consists of six tournaments in the disciplines of 8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, straight pool, and one-pocket. All players are welcome from any state: amateurs, pros, men, women, and juniors.

Details will be posted on the AZ Billiards Tournament Forum (http://forums.azbilliards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4) during the month prior to each individual tournament. Flyers will be distributed in local rooms. You may also call the host room for each event for more details.

Cuefan, I am very happy to see this series of tournaments announced and I hope to attend some of them.

I would like to make a suggestion, if I may.

You advertise these tournaments on this forum, the CCB and possibly others. I would like to recommend that when the tournament is completed, you go back and post the complete results of the tournament. A short tournament report would also be nice. It has been a number of days since the 8-ball tournament and this thread is the first I have seen any official results. Not everyone can play or attend these tournaments, but many of us are interested in what players were there and the results. This information would be appreciated by all.
 
Thanks Rich - good suggestions. I would have posted results but was told that a complete report with photos was going to be submitted to AZ (still waiting on that). In the meantime, I can report that Ryan McCreesh played excellent pool in the final. He ran 4 of the first 5 racks and won with an overall score of 7 to 1.
 
Bank Pool

You should see if either Big Daddy's or All-Stars would be interested in having a Bank Pool Classic as well similar to the format at the Derby City Classic. May go over well.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions about adding bank pool and a bar box event. Perhaps this can be done if the room owners agree (maybe the big Maryland Eastern Shore event could be the bar box event ...?).

Also, thanks for notification of the March date conflict with the Viking Tour stop at Winchester. We'll see what can be done to move the 10-ball date and post if it can be done.

Is anyone aware of any other date conflicts?

Due to a scheduling conflict, the 10-Ball event will be held on April 3, 2010.
 
Finish Line Sports Bar and the promoter have very kindly allowed the Maryland State Bar Table Championship to be included in the Maryland Classic Series.

The Maryland State Bar Table Championship will be held April 17 and 18, 2010 at Finish Line Sports Bar, 740 Cambridge Plaza, Cambridge, MD 21631. 1-410-901-6104. Please see the posts in the Tournament Announcements section of AZBilliards for more information.

If you are anywhere near the area, please support this tournament by entering or coming out to support your favorite players.
