Just curious... but is it just more, or have the forums gotten kinda lame lately...
several months ago, I could log on at any given time, and there was good content all over the place, and now it seems I spend more time LOOKING for good content than reading it.

What's up with that?

Sadly, the main problem here is that so many come here solely to stir up crap, which takes away from the experience. As a result, many very good regular posters have stopped coming here any longer.

Quite sad, actually.

That having been said, it is (finally) summer here in the US. AZB is an indoor activity. Its not surprising that the forum slows a bit during the summer.

First off I wanna say no offense to you, because I like reading your posts, but the problem is numerous threads a day like this are started. Someone starts an absolute pointless thread, someone else will say something, someone will get offended, then it will be ten pages of absolute nothing. There is no moderation done to prevent this, so 15-20 people just use this forum as a way to waste their day away arguing about absolutely nothing. That's what I think has been wrong with this place lately.

Don't know what happened, "kinda lame lately" I agree.

It is summer.
The snow is gone - gems are uncovered.
The winter posters are out collecting aluminum cans to raise a bankroll to lose to Rhea when they go on the road.

Suggest you return in January.

yáll are both right. and i've been biotching about it for a few months. my only justification, is that a lot of NEW members stepped in - and apparently found the CREATE A THREAD button.

(Happy Birthday threads are exempt ;))

but i agree. yáll are not alone. too many repetitive threads to keep up with.

PS - i've been bored since Chinese New Year

Aiming system enthusiasts will pipe up and say, "See? If you'd not moved aiming threads/content to their own separate subforum, we'd all have something to talk about and learn! Now you have nothing on the Main forum."

Is this thread what you consider good content? If you want more good content, perhaps you should consider starting threads that are good content and contributing good content. Somebody has to, right?

Hey, Sean!

Agreed. The last straw for me was that vegan thread and their use of animal made tips... so stupid.

Good OP topic, and a lot of good replies to it.

I feel that if we quit trying to be comedians and present and write sincerely,
about our beloved sport, a lot of the heated debates can be avoided.

Nothing wrong with having a sense of humor, but remember,
sense of humor (and other dynamics) is more difficult to translate through text.
Just be careful with your words that's all.

The only gripe I have is that posters don't spellcheck and have terrible English-writing skills,
but I am more than willing to look past that if others would quit trying to be funny. Period.
Trying to BE funny is NOT always funny.

How do we expect newcomers to our sport to feel welcome if we can't even show good face to each other?
This is OUR forum—let's treat it with respect as we do our pool games. :)

Shit stirrers, lower IQ people coming on line and after you have been here 2 years, so many topics start to repeat.

BTW-Where did the term shortstop come from and was Fats any good?

I really dont understand why we dont have a "What kind of Cue does Neils use?" post right now!

Oh, stoop pit wil ya.

IT kind of sounds like you want to control what is done and how it's done on the forum
perhaps you should start your own forum. People shouldn't try to be funny, people should spell correctly,
hell you even told me in a post the word I used wasn't a word, but it was a word as I pointed out to you.

You're right "Trying to be funny is not always funny" and trying to be the "forum spelling police" isn't always
palatable either.
Now you want to be "the clown police" too, well I don't know about that but maybe
clown would be fitting, telling others to not try and be funny.
