There was a shock result today at The Crucible Theatre when the Qualifier from China , Ding Junhui beat the Qualifier from ITV4 Sports Snooker , Alan McManus in the Semi Final dubbed 'The Battle Of The Qualifiers 17-11 to reach The Final.....

Dang , I knew you'd guess it was me typing and not Hazel Irvine :D Anyway , years ago when Ding won the UK a few of us Punters were watching him at the Snooker and we agreed he was good enough to win the World's so the only shock is the fact it's taken him this long to reach his first Final .

Alan McManus had a great tournament , came from the clouds to reach the Semi Finals and play well in defeat and go home with a paycheck for £66,000 . He also had a great day when his football team Glasgow Celtic to all but sealed the SPL League title when they beat Stephen Hendry's team Heart Of Midlothian by 3-1 .

Frame 27 and Marco moves a red with his finger and does the unforgivable sin of not declaring the foul and then when Mark Selby fails to get out the snooker and hits the Pink and gives 6 points away Marco says play it again .

The plot thickens.....

Time check 23.18 UK time .

The moment in time Marco Fu lost this match was at 13-13 and didn't declare the foul and had the audacity to get the balls replaced when Mark Selby hit the Pink and asked the Referee to replace the balls and send Mark Selby back into retake the shot . If you get the chance to see it again please do and after Marco Fu plays the initial undeclared foul stroke and sits back in his seat the camera pans into his face his eyes are everywhere and he doesn't know where to look .

The Snooker Gods never forgive or forget such things.....

Not a lot has happened in this years tournament to stir up my imagination this year at the Crucible 2016 . I haven't got writers block and a watched just about every match possible and sat up late to watch Snooker Classics episodes but some of those got pulled from the TV schedule and no Snooker Extra programme tonight either .....

The Script

I've got to be honest , I fell asleep on the last few frames last night . I dreamt that if Mark Selby was 100 points behind and there was only the Pink and the Black left on the table he would still play on looking for Snookers to win the Frame.

It seemed like I lost two pages from the script so I had to go read all about it . A few hours of reading about how bad the slow play was I thought no wonder I fell asleep .

The Time Check was 12.23am when Mark Selby sunk the Green to lead 10-7 .

I looked up other Snooker threads and they were calling him Mark Slowby etc . His play was so slow The Big Lebowski passed him on the Highway but that's Snooker and probably one of the main reasons players pack it in and change channels to shoot some Pool .

Grasshopper says.....

Ding Junhui you have to at least tie the 3rd session or you may well be a spent force . "Grasshopper?" asked Ding Junhui , "Whatever happened to The Golden Cue?"
"Ah so you remember The Golden Cue my son , it is in a hidden Cue cabinet in Emperor Barry Hearn land . You must reach 18 Frames first my son and then and only then can you quest for the Golden Cue."
