I know this is early being it's 12/18/17 but is there anything that you're looking forward to pool wise for 2018? I have a few things I'm looking forward to.

Trying to get better on my end. I'm a solid low level player but I wish to up my game. If time permits, I want to try to get to a carom table and try my luck at 3 cushion.

A new playing cue!

Continue to work on and complete my home billiard room.

Some consistency in my fundamentals which hopefully leads to better play.

I'm looking to playing the game with a renewed energy and passion. Really since late spring 2017 I have been pretty burnt out on pool and I'm not sure why. No desire to play, practice, or watch. Partly I think it was because I started a new hobby and there is so much to learn and buy with it that pool just didn't seem as interesting. The other part is that pool leagues are partially responsible. I was playing 2 nights a week, and playing more than once a week just kills my interest to play pool purely for myself on other nights. Recently (within the last week) my passion for the game has been reignited. I'm hoping it stays that way for 2018.

I know for my own Pool habit that I have to have something new everyonce in awhile to keep the juices flowing but also too much is just too much. Two nights of Pool league would have me wanting to commit hari kari.

I got really into One Pocket a few years ago and its cost me to have to really practice individual areas of my game to be able to hang with the better players. The realizing of what areas I need to practice and me doing it at least one day a week have kept me going without smothering me and also about once a month I'll skip a Friday that I normally play One Pocket and also try to mix in playing someone new.

My advice would be mix it up and definitely develop your other interest. I'm always looking to do that. As soon as I get back on my feet after this surgery my challenge will be to get back to where I was.

Taking more lessons from Robin Dreyer in 2018. He is someone that knows just about everything about the game of pool. Amazing to watch and learn from. Too bad others can not take lessons from someone that good....or even some pool teacher somewhere. 50% of golfers take lessons from their professionals, but maybe <1% of pool players.

The DCC is just around the corner. I try to attend at least 3 days of the event and I am looking forward to seeing friends I have not seen since last year.

Yes.

I have a new 12.65 diameter long tapered Diveney 30" LD Kiel Wood shaft coming.

I have other good Diveney Lake Salvage shafts, but several months ago Pat sent me one of his Kiel Wood shafts to try out and I liked it, but wanted a smaller diameter 30 incher one with a black collar and copper ring to compliment the Custom Ebony Hustler he made for me several years ago.

That and I really need to work on my stroke as my accuracy drops when I try to move the cue ball at speed to gain position. My old 9' Rebco table is pretty forgiving, but I still struggle with log shots that I pound a bit.

Another vote for the Efren Cup! Just the thought of those world class Asian players humbling Shaw and Filler makes me smile. Yes, Efren definitely needs to be on the first team and he needs to be respected and give every one a lesson in humility.

Efren, Big Ko, Chang, Dennis, Wu, Biado. etc. and the next year replace Efren with Alex or Biado.

I understand. I'm recovering myself. I will send positive thoughts. I'm sure the good Doc will help you out.
