Well, it's been almost 4 months now and I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Here is a picture of one of the center legs that were in such bad shape. Each speration in the laminated structure was re-glued with Elmer's wood glue and clamped. Believe it ot not, this worked quite well and all the layers are now solid as can be.

Here's a picture of the external lamination on one of the center legs after the internal structure had been repaired.

And here is a picture of where I'm at right now

If everything goes well, we're looking at 3 more weeks or so until she's done. The rails are being redone with new rubber and cloth as we speak. The rails got 7 new ivory sights and a light satin coat of poly. The cloth will be 860 in Simonis green and new pockets all around. I'll post some more pics once she's finished.

Here's a link to my original thread.

That will be a beautiful table! From what I can see the grain in the wood is awesome. Where is she going to be set up? Your home? If so, lucky you :)

Looks like the kind of work that will reward you for years to come. Do it justice and keep us filled in as she progresses...

Big Dog - She'll get flipped over and set up right where she sits. This room is my get away spot and will be filled with the sounds of colliding phenolic spheres once again. Throw in some great music, brew/spirits and good friends and we're set.

Eric - Your always welcome

Creedo - I will

Cheers,
RG

I like the photo in your avatar. Fats talking to "crooked neck" Danny Jones. Is that Cornbread and Jimmy Reid with them. It's hard to tell.

Is that a tube amp in your audio equipment in the background? Also, what kind of speaker is that?

Oh, yeah, the table is awsome too!!

Scott

Randy - Looking forward to the classes friend. Can't wait until you get up here!

Jay - You've got good eyes. I think you nailed it.

Scott - Atma-Sphere MP-3 preamp and M-60 amps feeding a pair of Talon Khorus speakers. If you think this table is nice you should see my [turn] table :D.

Pete - Thank you, and I will.

Here's a better idea of what she'll look like:

She's not assembled, sections just sitting next to each other. I still have to glue some of the decorative blocks that are a little loose, then it's a light [satin poly] finish and final assembly.

Cheers,
RG

That's cool but what about the turntable?

Teres Audio 340 in cocobolo. 100% wood construction (except the bearing/spindle and the internal lead shot used as a dampening agent). I need a better arm but as is, the sound is to die for.

Cheers,
RG

RG:

All I can say is WOWWWWW in regards to your pool table.

This is gonna be HOT when it's all setup.

Same reaction I had...I guess I've seen and played on too many classic Brunswicks to get excited anymore, but tube amps and high-end speakers (and that bottle of tequila lol) really catch my eye.

I'll have to check out those companies...

First Coat of Finish

Here she is with her 1st coat of poly. Fresh paint on the inside also.

she's coming along nice... can we hit balls weekend after next ???

whats the time table look like??

You can really see the dry areas where she soaked up the first coat... possibly, since I doubt it will be ready before the holiday weekend. The poly needs to dry for 2-3 days between coats and I want to put at least two more coats on her (second coat going on tomorrow). It will likely be ready for slate late next week but I'd feel like a jerk asking the guy I bought it from to set it up on memorial day weekend. I'll let you know as soon as she's ready. Can't wait!

Tentative schedule is to install slate next weekend and finish her up. I'll post final pictures once she's done.
