What drives you crazy while at the table?

Number one for me is when I miss a shot I feel I should have made. It drives me crazy. I can't stand it. I have a hard time from keeping my stack from blowing.

Next and far down on the list is watching a lower skill shooter take minutes to line up a simple shot, only to miss it badly.

What drives me crazy is when you go to shoot and someone shooting at another table is in the way and you have to wait, I don't know if it bothers other people but it sure gets at me.

Note to room owners: keep plenty of distance between the tables:)

What i dont like

I hate to see a player ask for a spot when he can play just as well (cowards). I also hate it when someone that has no focus accusses me of trying to shark them if I breath wrong. "Go back in your basement your not ready" Also if I see someone makes a bad hit looks you in the eyes and then says nothing even when it's not in my game. The list goes on and on but, it just fuels my fire.

Those voices shouting in my head...
use the cue james use the cue!!!!!!
watch out for squirt, holy throw I think it's going to make it.
does she think I'm using a stiff shaft. :p
farfromknoggin, farfromknoggin farfromknoggin
Aiming system is offline, take three practice strokes and overanalize it in the morning.
Make it stop:confused:

That doesn't bother me so much. But what happens next sometimes does.

Two scenareos:

I'll be waiting patiently for the space, and the shooter will aim for a long time and then shoot and miss. OK, so far. Then he'll occupy that space for another ten seconds staring at the remnants of the failed shot, as if to say to the world "Wow, that was soooo unbelievable that I missed that shot!"

OR

He'll make the shot and then shuffle over a half step without taking his eyes off the table and start lining up his next shot.

I hate it when my opponent misses then grabs the chalk... as IF he will get to shoot again! I have to wait for him to get finished before I can chalk-up to shoot. Hate that!

Don't like when people stand between the tables, watching their own match, with no regard to your table, which is quite close to their butt. I invariably have to ask them to move so I can shoot.

Don't like it when my Sneaky Pete is leaning against the wall with my other equipment and some banger comes over and tries to take it back to his table to shoot with it.

God, I could go on all day!

Hate it when I miss.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate chalk hogs, space hogs, and bangers stealing my sp cue.

I am glad I cary my own personal chalk with some of you guys around. Sheesh!

I hate:
- when I have to wait for another (oblivious) person to shoot because they take space I'm already occupying...But I forgive this because I know I do it sometimes when I am focused.
- used to hate chalk hogs...though I was one...so I got a pocket chalker and now all is good.
- people who put chalk cubes upside-down on the table
- people who use excessive powder that gets everyone and isn't necessary in the first place
- rack riggers
- people who see you play and can't stop complementing you. I enjoy it when someone throws me an earnest complement, but there are those people that obsessively do so and stick aroud you for no good reason.
- #1 pool pet peeve is people who stand at the table when their buddies are shooting. These are the ball bangers that don't really play pool but see it as a social activity. That's all well and good, but when you better not get in my way when I'm in the zone unless you're shooting.

The opponent, that chalks his cue after each shot.

Do you mean an opponent who chalks whilst you are shooting? This drives me nuts too, especially a few players I know who like to chalk almost continously whilst watching you shoot, not just once immediatley after they've missed.

Howeve if you mean whilst the opponent is shooting then I am (as you well know) guilty of this and have no intention of changing. I'd rather chalk every shot than mis-cue once in a while due to lapses in chalking frequency. If it also happens to annoy my opponent it's one of those legal sharks they cannot do anything about. (Like a friend of mine who wears sandals that swish and flop as he walks around the table, the noise gets really annoying after a while!)

One of my pet peeves is when the owner/management of an establishment won't:
- remove patrons who've had way too much to drink and are interfering with the safety of the people there. It's hard to focus on a match when you're worried about a fight breaking out behind you.

and a few others are as follows:

-drunks with whiney voices yelling directions from the rail
- drunks
- crackheads and meth addicts who play pool
- crackheads and meth addicts
-people who leave in the middle of a game to go have a smoke, chat with friends or pick thier nose.
- drunks
- crackheads

My only gripes could be cured very simply by the pool hall management: no cell phones turned on by players during matches, none of those 'beeping' phones at any time, and no rap music or Journey.

When I foul on a practice stroke by accidentally touching the cue ball. Especially on an important shot. Nothing makes me want to quit playing and cry into my beer quite like that does.

That and when an opponent misses their shot and accidentally totally hooks you. I love it when I get lucky like that, but it's infuriating when my opponent does.

I notice, when I focus on my game nothing bothers me. I pay no attention to my opponent, I just play pool, and I have my own chalk. :)

This rememnded me of an incident in Orlando at the KOH event. I was watching Corey Deuel play and as he was down on a shot a cell phone went off. Everyone looked around to see who the numbskull was. As it turned out, it was Corey's phone on his beltloop! The best part is that he took the call while at the table! That was just funny.:D

This is really easy...

The #1 winner take all pet peeve is when someone uses the chalk and then puts it upside down. I can't stand that.

I don't mind waiting for someone on another table when they are in my way, I just hate when I have to watch them watch where the balls end up when they miss.

Taking the only chalk off the table when it is my inning.

I'm with you. I chalk after every shot. I did get a personal chalker, so I'm good. But I'm not playing the miscue lottery and that won't change. All the good players I know chalk very frequently...like after alomst every shot.

You chalk after every shot, wow, I chalk before every shot :D
