Very nice.

Hats off to Mike Webb and Dan Janes for making this happen for you. Very worthwhile.

As you said in your link, Scruggs came out of the JOSS shop.

I tried out a Scruggs shaft on my old JOSS tonight. I had bought it for myself for my birthday. The two shafts I got wtith the cue in 85 were actually Stroud shafts. I was blown away by the Scruggs shaft. Happily it has the matching ring work for the old JOSS. The amazing thing was how it played though. It absolutely blew away the Stroud shafts I have played with all these years. Very lively, I could control the cue ball intuitively. The unknown layered tip is extremely hard and the person I bought it off of suggested changing it. No way. I like hard tips. Back in the day the advanced players played with very hard tips. They are not forgiving at all but can control the ball amazingly if you are up to it. Several times my friend thought I miscued because the sound off that tip was so sharp, I assured them and will tell you it was not a miscue, it was a very hard tip. I have several newer JOSS shafts and the pedigree of the Scruggs shaft is completely obvious. It actually plays much like the "off the shelf" JOSS shafts I have, but a little better. My newer JOSS shafts have always played better than my original Stroud shafts anyway IMHO. Part of that is the tip, but there is something slightly different about the taper, very slight, but I know it's there, and the ferrule is different. I don't know what the ferrule is but I like it.

So anyway...Yeah....Scruggs....not only is that cue "put right", I am confident it is a monster player.

Enjoy it.
