I went to a local partners 9-ball tourney tonight,,,usually someone willing to be partnered with me,,,tonight Sam (turned six last week) wanted to play in the tourney & nobody wanted to play with him (money on the line and so forth),,,good kid, so I took him as my pool partner,,,we tied for 5th/6th and actually won a little money.
lost first round,,,we were a paired 3 handicap,,,went hill-hill 2nd round and Sam made the 9 in our third win,,,,next round he made the 9 in the first game, I made the second win; then Sam made a tough combo to win the third game, beat paired sixes 3-zip,,,next round, paired sixes again, went hill-hill, but we won again.....final match, people were crowding the sidelines to watch Sam shoot,,,,,unfortunately, this was after midnight and Sam was getting a little sleepy or tired; we lost and Sam got to take a rest.
most fun I've had in a tournament in a long time,,,the partners we put out of the tournament were irate,,,guess they might handicap Sam higher for the next tourney,,,don't think it'll bother him one bit,,,
he's got the training wheels off his bike now, he might take it on the road before 1st grade next year,,,professional pool better get ready for him,,,
