Feeler about a Pechauer/Predator combo

I'm selling this cue for my friend Rob West. He bought the cue from Seybert's Billiard Supply in February of 2004. A call to Seybert's confirmed that the cue is a model IV4 from Pechauer's "Ivory Series" as it has ivory diamonds in the forearm and butt sleeve. It is similar in appearance to a current Pechauer cue, but the diamonds in the currently available cue are not ivory. The price of the cue in 2004 was $480 according to the person I talked to at Seybert's. Rob purchased two matching Predator shafts (first generation) with the Pechauer 317 speed joint. The shafts were $220 at that time. The two Predator shafts and the original Pechauer shaft have Moori medium tips. All three shafts weigh 3.8 ounces. The Predator shafts, just below the ferrule, measure 12.6 mm and 12.7 mm. The Pechauer shaft is 12.9 mm. He also purchased joint protectors (two shaft protectors and one butt protector) and the complete Pechauer weight bolt system. The weight bolts allow the cue to weigh from 17.4 ounces to 21.8 ounces.

The original cost of the cue plus the two Predator shafts, weight bolts, and joint protectors (one butt and two shaft protectors) was about $1,000. Rob has taken excellent care of the cue and I could find no nicks or dings. Everything rolls straight together and apart.

I'd like to sell the cue to someone who will be at the DCC next week to take delivery of the cue directly from me. I will be arriving in Louisville on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 9.

The price, for delivery at Derby City, is $475.

I've owned and played with several Pechauer cues and liked them all (that includes playing with 314 and OB-1 shafts on them).

Having bought and sold many of them, I think your initial asking price is in the right ballpark, too.

Nice cue. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for your comments! Actually, I had misunderstood the owner when he quoted what he paid for the cue initially and had to revised my post about it. I figure that asking about half what he has in it and throwing in a case he bought for about $80 is a good deal for someone. Since I would rather hand-deliver the cue at Derby City than bother with packing and shipping it, I will probably just wait until the week before DCC and post again at that time.

Price has been lowered

We just lowered the price on this cue. A very attractive cue, hits solid with all three shafts, and priced at about what the two Predator shafts originally cost. No cosmetic blemishes and everything rolls straight. I'd like to hand-deliver this to someone next month at Derby City.

Just one

bump for now. The next time you will see this cue for sale will be about a week before I go to Derby City. Thanks for looking.:)
