Here are my dark horse picks.

Oi has been in the mix but not quite for quite a while now.
Kazakis has not placed well this year...overdo.
The Lion has one more in him. Maybe going home first will be that spark.

magic rack, 1 on the spot it looks like? that really isn't a good combination. it favors the lesser breakers and also one dimensional play (less safety savviness needed)

Anyone watch any of the streams? Looks like Filler had a loss already too?

yes, against a noname malaysian i think

i tried to watch a little. the camera angle has always sucked at china open, still does, but the break rules are the most annoying. corner ball wired, a medium-softish break dollies up the 1-ball all the time

Last 32 Single Elimination (SE) Bracket (From Sat to Sun 9-10 October) http://spba.org.cn/match/tz2023/pcbracket/bracketall.htm?g=&s=M

The 800s acquitted themselves superbly probably their best performance in a major. Only 1 (Orcollo) failed to make the last 32 so 800s made up 23 out of 32
Draw is balanced 11 in top half and 12 in bottom half. Most matches (9 out of 16 matches) pit 800s against each other
SE Last32.jpg

The murderers' row is bottom quadrant with 7 x800s out of 8 players (The 8th player Xue Zhenqi is 800s but his robustness is only 200+). FSR, Filler, Chang JL, He, Kazakis, Alcaide, Lechner and Xue all fighting for just 1 semifinal spot. To win title, they have to be on a roll play like 850+ and consecutively take down 5x800s in a row. Recent major winners win their major beating 3 to 4x800s (usually non-consecutively) . So it's a tall order for these 8 and I won't be surprised if one of these 8 do not win the title :ROFLMAO:

Ko Pin Yi V Orcollo (Losers side match)
Ko breaks dry. Orcollo comes to table can see lowest ball but does not take shot, pass it to Ko.
What was that about? Someone please enlighten this pool noob

Was it an illegal break because only one ball made it past the head string?
