Have any players said anything about how the tables are playing? They seem slower. Especially shots towards the side.

si juahui may become one of those crucible specialists. done nothing in the season, but qualifies and is once again playing like a real contender. i think he got to the semis last year. plays fun, brave snooker

really should've been in the final last year, had a huge lead over luca. year before that, he was the amateur that murphy said didn't belong in a pro event..

The difference between Ronnie and everyone else.

This was end of the first frame. All Ronnie needed to do was drop in the red to secure the frame. Every other player would have made the red and played for a baulk color. What does Ronnie do? Makes the red and goes 2 rails between the green and brown to get perfect on the black.

The frame was secure and Page needed 3 snookers at that point

Yes, although technically it's never "secure" when needing 3 snookers. It's been done before.

Anyways my point was Ronnie is always thinking of scoring big/getting on the black even when it's not necessary.

I know it's done before and highly doubt he'd waste time trying for the 3 snookers especially against Ronnie. Page is aggressive for the most part and is dangerous when he gets in the balls.

Ronnie up 4-0 at the mid session interval. Looking good overall although I'd say he's definitely not playing his A game.

First round this year upsets heavy. So far 7 of 16 seeds are out in round 1. Record is 8 seeds out. Top half of draw weak now and Mark Allen has an "easy path" to final
Ronnie and Judd still big favorites over the rest. If there is first time winner this year (like last year) , will be Mark Allen or Si Jiahui

That was a hell of a match with Ding and Lisowski. 9-8 for Jack then Ding ran a century to go hill hill. Jack kept his composure and came back for the win

very good fight from both of them. i like seeing some fire in ding lately. he got way too rich way too young and has been lacking the hunger the last decade

yea, my ronnie vs allen bet isn't looking bad so far, the bumps in the road as i see it are judd, si and kyren. and i guess we'll see which john higgins turns up - a last push from the old fox can't be ruled out.. the old generation are marathon men..

Decent drop off in the level of play this year for some season.

Last year's first round matches had a total of 39 centuries. There's still one more match to finish in the first round, but we're currently at 24 total centuries.

Robert Milkins going full Earl. He's been pouting all match, and just threw his cue after missing an easy red. Gilbert only needs to win 5 more frames for the match, but I'd say Milkins is a favorite to quit (or get DQ'd) before then.

Running against the nap it would not be advisable to try and drop this in, better to play it with speed.
