Any Players, J&J or the like in the $100 range will break as good as anything else. Just be aware that tip material may be an issue in some leagues (if she plays any) so you may want to explore that prior to purchase.

I just bought my wife a Players JB5 jump/break with a Samsara tip. Hits strong, but this things sounds terrible. Sounds like something is broken.

I'm calling Seyberts tomorrow about exchanging it. I think I should spend a little more money and get something quality. Considering a Pechauer or Poison.

Break cue

You can buy a J&J Break/jump cue for $60-65 dollars, and they are a giood break cue. One of the best bargains you will ever find.

You can probably even find them cheaper on Ebay, that's where I bought mine for $44.75, and I bought an extra shaft for $30.

Hey Guys,

I have a Friend that is a Female who is looking to get a decent Break Cue without breaking her Wallet.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be a good break cue to steer he towards?

Thanks
-Steve
Thanks for all the great responses !!!

i failed to mention that she needs the break joint, but not specifically for jumping. She plays in some bars and what not where space around the table is sometimes an issue. so she breaks the cue down in those awkward situations. so the tip is also important, for less chance of miscuing in those situations.

Thanks
-Steve

Hi Steve!

I have a Fury JB-RW that I really like:

http://fury-cues.com/thecues-jb.html

What's nice, is like you say -- she can break it down to the jump-cue portion, and use the jump-cue portion like a "shortie" cue for those bars with obstructions near the pool table. It's got a carbon-graphite ferrule/tip on it that takes chalk well, so it's not like she'll be in danger of miscueing if she uses it like a "shortie" cue.

If you want (and if she can wait until SBE), I'll bring my JB-RW with me to SBE, and you can try it for yourself!

Seriously, most girls I watch switch to a break cue hit so soft its just a waste of time and effort to carry one. Not all woman but most. I feel like saying something but we all know its just better to just keep quiet.

I had a Gino Ferrari (sp) that I bought on ebay with a phenolic tip and used for about a year -hits fine for the $50.00 or so that I spent on it.

A few months back, I spent $200.00 or so on a TNT Break Cue with a Samsara tip and couldn't be happier - breaks very, very well once I figured out how much speed to apply.

Tell you what I'll do - if she wants my old break cue (the GF) just to try out, I'll send it to her. If she likes it, have her send me $10.00 for shipping - the cue's on me - it's just sitting gathering dust upstairs. If she doens't like it, just have her send it back to me via snail mail.

Let me know.

Very nice and sweet of you.. Ty
