Wrapping the snake around without a seam is usually from the philippines.

Snakeskin

I had a feeling it was phillipino, it is actually well constructed. The fangs are actually embedded in one portion of the wrap. $100 special, at first I thought is was made by Steve urbate. Thank for input

Why would anyone thin out the forearm by wrapping it with thick snake skin?

That's an import cue for sure.

I think PI is right.

Something like Worx brand or similar. That brand and other similar brands used a lot of snakeskin.

As far as knocking the hit of the cue because of it being too thin in the forearm with the snake wrap, that may not be the case at all. First we do not know the diameter. Second .830" to .850" joint diameter is pretty standard here in the USA and a .850" would easily handle that type of snake skin leaving about .830" solid. I am not a fan of most of the cues coming from that country, but there are a few over there doing some really nice work. I would not hesitate to wrap a cue from one end to the other with snakeskin if the customer wanted it and was willing to pay what I wanted to do it. I have done it on jump cues and would do it on a playing cue without any doubt it would still play good. Look how many people have put weak burls over a much smaller core and them still play good.
