How do you fly with your cues?

I'll be making a trip soon and wanna take my cues. Only Ive nvr flown with any before. How do you guys do it? I work at DFW airport...Ive seen how the baggage guys handle items...CRAPPY. I dont want my instroke damaged...or my cues stolen.. thanks in advance for any input

Well, since you can't carry them on, you have to check it. I stick it in a good protective case and pack it in my luggage. BTW, I won't travel with my more expensive cues, but go with a lower end McDermott when I'm somewhere on business. Not just worried about the airline breaking or losing it, but also leaving it in a hotel room or in the trunk of a hot car all day while I'm at work.

I used a Haliburton Zero case to check at the airline, with an empty soft case in my suitcase so I didn't have to carry that thing around back & forth in the hotel.

I do want to say how ridiculous it is that you can't take a cue on an airplane.
You can take a tennis racket but not a pool cue.
Coming back the plane was delayed 8-hours with my cue sitting in the heat in Las Vegas.

Now I've got these stupid "fragile" stickers stuck to my case.
When I told the airline to be careful they just stuck em on.

Next time I will FedEx them to the hotel.
