First of all if anyone thinks Dennis is stealing playing Ten Ball, they're crazy. Yang is and has been the best money player in Taiwan for years now. And that's in a country full of great players. He has frequently come to the Philippines and gambled, playing many of the Tier One players. And he has a winning record. In fact I'm straining my brain trying to remember who beat him.
Suffice to say this guy is a MONSTER pool player. I've seen him play a few times and always been very impressed. He can be a bit dramatic but that is all part of his "schtick". When he takes his time it is usually because he is facing a difficult shot or difficult leave. He reminds me of Sigel in this respect. He will study the shot, get down on it and then get back up. He'll go for powder or a sip of water and return to the table to look again. When he finally decides to let go he hits a perfect shot!
I'd hate to tell you what I think of any American's chances against him. Only Johnny or Rodney at their peak might be in his league. All that being said, I think Dennis is one of pool's premier players today. His cue ball control is on a par with the best of Efren. And he is The Gambler in the Philippines. I'm not sure anyone else really wants a piece of Yang. He has given them the cure. But a big factor here has to be their previous match. For lack of better words Yang slaughtered Dennis. That has to be in Dennis' mind when they play again. The psychological edge goes to Yang.
