Wow that is a awesome looking cue!! Very clean not to much going on but very nice. I've been thinking of getting a Davis blank or having Tim Prince or the the guys at QB cues make me a new cue , how would you describe the hit? I have a QB cue and it has a stiff solid hit
I like the way that Prince builds the "shaft ring" into the joint of the butt. It gives the appearance that any plain shaft you screw onto the cue has matching ringwork... really cool if you like to play around with different shafts.
Here is a flame veneer blank I picked out at John's shop two years ago that is an unfinished sealed cue blank hanging in my shop. Hard Curly Forearm, Ebony Points and Butt Sleeve. It has elforyn inlays and elforyn razor boxes in the butt sleeve with a Hoppe ring.
It is the 3rd Davis Blank I have turned. John's joinery work is awesome!
This "Old School Style Esoteric Cue" is ready for finishing and a wrap. It only needs a player to enjoy the beautiful John Davis full splice hit.
For any interested party, this cue could be finished, cured, wet sanded, buffed then delivered in about 4 weeks.
Here are a few pictures of beautiful cue that John Davis and Tim Prince made for me –
John worked with Burton Spain and made some of the Balabushka blanks.
I had John make the blank from my specs - I wanted him to build a cue that showcased the full-splice construction technique. I convinced him I wanted not one, but three full splices built into the cue.
Cue is maple and ebony, veneers and ring work are Titleist colors
